How to watch Celtic vs Rangers live
The Old Firm Derby between Celtic vs Rangers is scheduled for 12:30pm on Sunday 1st September and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football.
How both teams go into Celtic vs Rangers
It’s the first Old Firm derby of the new season and even at this early stage it feels like an important one. Celtic are still perfect after three games in the Scottish Premiership as they look to hold onto their crown. Brendan Rodgers’ side have won the title in three consecutive years and 12 of the last 13, so there are standards to uphold.
And when we say Celtic have been perfect, we really mean perfect. As well as winning their opening three games, Celtic are also yet to concede a goal. They have beaten Kilmarnock 4-0, Hibernian 2-0 and St. Mirren 3-0. Celtic have also beaten Hibs 3-1 in the Scottish League Cup, making it four wins from four across all competitions.
Things haven’t been as good for Rangers. They opened the season with a goalless draw against Hearts in which they did struggle at times. Philippe Clement’s side have won both of their league matches since, beating Motherwell 2-1 before last weekend’s 6-0 thrashing of Ross County.
Rangers are also through to the quarter-finals of the League Cup, beating St. Johnstone 2-0 in the second round. However, there has also been an exit in the Champions League, with Rangers beaten 3-1 by Dynamo Kyiv in the third qualifying round.

Celtic team news
Celtic have said goodbye to Matt O’Riley, who sat out of their win over St. Mirren at the weekend. They came through that win unscathed so Rodgers may opt to name an unchanged XI. Adam Idah will lead the line, with Kyogo Furuhashi potentially unleashing havoc from the bench.
Rangers team news
Ridvan Yilmaz has missed Rangers past two games with a hamstring injury and will once again be absent here. Jefte has started in his place at left-back, so should continue for the short trip to Celtic Park.
Jon McLaughlin has left for Swansea, though wasn’t in Clement’s plans.
Celtic vs Rangers head-to-head
Celtic are unbeaten in their past five games against Rangers since a 3-0 defeat at the end of the 2022/23 season. That run includes a 1-0 win in the Scottish FA Cup final in May.
