How both teams go into Aston Villa vs Juventus
What was looking like another excellent season for Aston Villa is in danger of collapsing following a run of one draw and four defeats in their final five games before the international break. Unai Emery’s side are still in the Champions League top eight, but need a win to stay comfortable in their chase for the knockout rounds. They also need to inspire some confidence after slipping to eighth in the Premier League, although there is only three point between them and Chelsea in third.
Juventus, meanwhile, are 11th on seven points, two adrift of Villa. The Old Lady are winless in their last two Champions League matches, drawing 1-1 with Lille last time out following a 1-0 defeat to Stuttgart. However, the latter is their only competitive defeat this season. Thiago Motta’s men are sixth in Serie A, but remain just four points adrift of leaders Napoli and are the only remaining unbeaten team in the competition.
