Bournemouth got a much needed shot of confidence when they defeated Everton 4-1 in the League Cup in midweek with both teams much changed. In the league, it has been a different story with a 4-3 loss to Leeds last week their fourth successive defeat.
After a good start under caretaker Gary O’Neil things are getting tougher for the Cherries who have dropped to 17th in the table. At home, their form has been mixed with two victories, two draws and two defeats in their last six.
Everton boss Frank Lampard took a risk in midweek by resting numerous players in one of the few competitions that the Merseysiders could win. They lost 4-1 on that occasion and will hope that their reward is three league points.
It is just four points from their last six Premier League games for the Toffees who are in 16th one place and one spot above their opponents here. They are seeking only their second road success of the campaign.
Bournemouth vs Everton match stats
Both teams to score is an obvious play when it ended 4-1 in midweek and it looks worth taking here. This would have happened in each of the last three for Bournemouth and five of their last seven. Everton are not exactly prolific in front of goal but the Cherries always allow plenty of chances.
Marcus Tavernier managed 2+ shots on target last weekend and we are backing him to do the same again here. The player has impressed since his move from Middlesbrough in the summer and is worth siding with here.
