The final round of games of the 2026 World Cup group stage take place between Wednesday and Sunday. We’ve taken a look at the Group C permutations.
We’ve broken down each group, with this article focusing on Group C. Haiti have already been eliminated but all three of Brazil, Morocco and Scotland can all win the group or finish third.
Below are all the permutations for those groups as well as who each team could face in the next round. It’s a little complicated but we’ve tried to make it as easy we can!

Three nations could finish in first position, although Brazil are the most likely, and by some distance. In five of the nine possibilities Carlo Ancelotti’s side win the group. Morocco come out on top in two of the possibilities, while Scotland also come out in two of the nine.
Second place looks like it’s Morocco’s to lose, with the African nation finishing as runners-up in Group C in six of the possibilities. Scotland can only finish second if they beat Brazil and Morocco beat Haiti. Brazil could finish in second place but they’d need one of two specific outcomes to occur. They either need to draw against Scotland with Morocco beating Haiti or lose to Scotland and see Haiti beat Morocco.
Scotland’s guaranteed path to the knockout round is quite simple. They have to beat Brazil and hope Morocco win or draw against Haiti. Any other scenario leaves Steve Clarke’s side in third position at waiting for results in other groups.
Haiti are playing for nothing but pride in their final game in Group C. Defeats to Scotland and Brazil means that Les Grenadiers will finish bottom of the group, regardless of any outcomes on Matchday Three.
Who could the teams from Group C face in the next round?
The winner of Group C will take on the side that finishes second in Group F. As thing stand, that means a meeting with Japan in the Round of 32.
Whoever finishes second will face the winner of Group F. That’s currently lining up to be Netherlands.
The current projections show that the side that finishes third in Group C will be playing knockout football. That sets up a tie with the nation that wins Group E, which has already been confirmed as Germany.
