Premier League stats and records you might see in Gameweek 36

With just three Premier League gameweeks to go there’s all to play for as the season reaches its closing stages.

Arsenal, who are chasing a double, will be looking to take a step closer to the Premier League title after they opened up a five point gap at the top. They travel across the capital to West Ham, who are fighting for their lives at the other end of the table.

Elsewhere, Tottenham are chasing their first home win since December, Leeds can officially secure their safety, and Chelsea will be looking to avoid a seventh straight defeat.

Check out the best of the possible statistics below:

Chelsea in freefall

  • Chelsea could lose seven successive league games for only the second time in their history and first since 1952.

Chelsea slumped to a sixth consecutive league defeat after they were soundly beaten 3-1 at home to Nottingham Forest last time out. Their miserable run could deepen further this weekend at Anfield, where they are at risk of losing seven straight league matches for only the second time in club history – and for the first time since 1952.

Defensive issues continue to plague Chelsea, who have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last 13 Premier League games, which is their longest league run since 1991, when they went 17 matches without a shutout.

Despite their struggles, Chelsea can still complete a first league double over Liverpool since 2013-14 after their dramatic 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge in October, which was secured by a dramatic late goal from Estevao. The 19-year-old could now become just the second teenager to score both home and away against Liverpool in the same Premier League season, after Romelu Lukaku in 2012-13.

Liverpool, meanwhile, suffered a 3-2 defeat away to top-five rivals Manchester United last weekend. Another loss would see the Reds reach 12 defeats in a Premier League campaign for the first time since 2014-15, while a defeat would also take their total losses in all competitions this season to 19 – their highest tally since 2009-10.

Sunderland’s top-4 curse

  • Sunderland could stretch their winless run to 29 Premier League matches against clubs starting the day in the top-four of the table.

Sunderland are aiming to end a dismal cycle, having failed to win any of their last 28 matches against sides starting the day in the top four – losing 19 of them – since a victory at Chelsea back in 2014.

The challenge does not get any easier against a Manchester United side who have collected more points (32) than any other team since Michael Carrick took charge. United have also enjoyed recent trips to the Stadium of Light, winning 10 of their last 15 visits there, losing just once.

Something may have to give on Saturday, with both Man United (15 wins, seven draws) and Sunderland (seven wins, five draws) among the only three remaining sides yet to lose a Premier League match after scoring first this season.

One niche subplot involves Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka, who could become the first player ever to score four Premier League goals from outside the box against Manchester United.

Cherries chasing sweet 16

  • Bournemouth can extend their club record unbeaten run to 16 Premier League matches.

Bournemouth will be looking to extend their club record unbeaten run to 16 Premier League matches when they head to Fulham hunting for three points in their pursuit of European football next season.

Junior Kroupi matched the record for most Premier League goals scored by a teenager in their debut campaign last weekend with his 12th of the season. He now has the opportunity to move joint-fifth with Nicolas Anelka (13 goals in 1998-99) in the charts for most goals in a season by a teenager. Romelu Lukaku’s tally of 14 is also within sight, but Michael Owen’s 18-goal seasons and Robbie Fowler’s remarkable 23 appear safe.

Wolves’ unwanted full set

  • Wolves could become only the second side to lose to all other 19 Premier League opponents in a single season, after Sheffield United in 2023-24.

Brighton suffered their first defeat in six games last weekend but have the ideal opportunity to bounce back at home to relegated Wolves, who have taken just two points from their last 18 available.

Wolves are looking to avoid becoming only the second ever side to lose to all other 19 Premier League clubs in a single season after Sheffield United in 2023-24.

Their record against Brighton doesn’t exude much confidence, having lost five and won none of the last eight clashes. On top of that, they are still the only club yet to win away this season (D5 L12).

Doku finding form

  • If Jeremy Doku scores against Brentford, he will have more Premier League goals in his last two games (3) than his previous 39 games (2).

Man City dropped what could ultimately prove to be two crucial points in the 3-3 draw at Everton, although they did at least rescue a draw after finding themselves two goals down with nine minutes to go.

Pep Guardiola’s side return to the Etihad where they are unbeaten in their last 15 Premier League games (W12 D3), scoring at least twice in 13 of those 15.

Jeremy Doku has hit form in front of goal, scoring four goals in his last five games in all competitions, including a brace against Everton. If he scores again on Saturday at home to Brentford he will have more Premier League goals in his last two games (3) than his previous 39 games (2).

Forest’s goal frenzy

  • Nottingham Forest could score 3+ goals in four consecutive top-flight games for the first time since March/April 1995.

Nottingham Forest are in red-hot form, having gone 10 games unbeaten in all competitions – ahead of their Europa League second-leg – winning the last five in a row.

Forest have stuck four past Burnley, five past Sunderland, and three past Chelsea in their last three Premier League games, meaning they now have the chance to score 3+ goals in four consecutive top-flight games for the first time since March/April 1995. If they do win, it will be the first time that Forest have recorded back-to-back home wins since March/April 2025.

Yet, history tells us that Forest tend to struggle against Newcastle, winning just one of their last 15 Premier League meetings, with nine defeats in the last 10. While the Toon have never lost at the City Ground in the Premier League (W4 D3).

Magic Munoz

  • If Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz scores or assists against Everton he will be the only defender to be directly involved in 20 Premier League goals since he made his debut in the competition in February 2024.

Everton are winless in four games, the last three of which they’ve conceded in injury time. They can, however, draw on a very good record against Sunday’s opponents Crystal Palace, who they’ve lost to just once in the last 22 Premier League meetings, and have only lost once at Selhurst Park since 1994.

If Everton do win, Selhurst Park will become David Moyes’ joint most successful away ground in the Premier League with seven wins (level with his seven wins at Villa Park).

It’s no secret that Crystal Palace are fully focused on Conference League glory, but if Daniel Munoz (eight goals & 11 assists) scores or assists against the Toffees he will become the only defender to be directly involved in 20 Premier League goals since he made his debut in the competition in February 2024.

Turf Moor misery

  • Burnley are looking to avoid matching a club record run of 14 Premier League home games without a win.

Burnley begin life without the departed Scott Parker looking to avoid matching an unwanted club record of 14 Premier League home games without a win.

Interim boss Michael Jackson will take charge for what will be his 10th Premier League game, and a third meeting with Aston Villa, making it the first time in Premier League history a manager has faced the same opponent three times within his opening 10 matches.

Martin Dubravka may have conceded a league high 71 goals this term, but he has made a league high 127 saves, 24 more than any other goalkeeper. Only Brian Jensen (149 in 2009-10) and Tom Heaton (128 in 2014-15, 141 in 2016-17) have recorded more saves in a Premier League season for Burnley.

Aston Villa head to Turf Moor on the back of a disappointing display against Spurs, and could go six consecutive Premier League games without a win for the first time under Unai Emery.

Saka sizzling

  • Bukayo Saka (9) will be aiming to reach 10 Premier League goal involvements against West Ham, which would be his highest tally against a single opponent in the competition.

West Ham and Arsenal meet at the London Stadium in a crucial clash at both ends of the table, with the Hammers battling to avoid relegation while the Gunners chase the title.

Arsenal’s lead at the top could have been cut to two points if Manchester City beat Brentford before their trip to East London on Sunday afternoon. Mikel Arteta’s side hammered West Ham 5-2 at the London Stadium last term, and 6-0 the season prior, meaning they could become only the second side in English league history – after West Brom against Birmingham – to score 5+ goals in three consecutive away games against the same opponent.

Bukayo Saka has two goals and an assist in his last two games in all competitions and boasts nine Premier League goal contributions (5 goals, 4 assists) in eight games against West Ham. He heads into the game aiming for his 10th goal involvement, which would be more than he has registered against any other club in the competition.

West Ham go into the fixture on the back of a damaging 3-0 defeat at Brentford that saw them drop into the relegation zone, and they risk becoming the first side ever to lose six home London derbies in a single Premier League season. However, they can take encouragement from a six-match unbeaten run in front of their own fans.

West Ham skipper Jarrod Bowen (7) needs one more assist to match Eyal Berkovic’s Hammers record of eight home assists in a single Premier League campaign, and two more to equal Paolo Di Canio’s club-best total of nine.

Spurs seeking home reset

  • Tottenham could win their first league home game since  6th December 2025.

Last, but certainly not least, we have a big scrap near the bottom between Tottenham and Leeds on Monday night.

Spurs moved out of the drop zone with a surprise win at Aston Villa, but could find themselves back in it should West Ham stun Arsenal on Sunday. Roberto De Zerbi’s side are on the hunt for three successive Premier League games for the first time since February 2025, while this would be their first home league win in 10 games since 6th December 2025.

Leeds are unbeaten in their last six games and will be mathematically safe if the Hammers lose to the Gunners. They could become the first promoted team to put together two seven game unbeaten streaks in the same season since Middlesbrough in 1998-99.
