Gameweek 35 proved to be a pivotal one in the Premier League title place as Arsenal surged five points clear of Manchester City.
Manchester United secured a return to the Champions League next season after a dramatic win over Liverpool, while Tottenham sneaked above West Ham in the battle to avoid relegation.
Here are the best of the statistics from the Bank Holiday weekend.
Stats you might have missed
Gyokeres flying
- Viktor Gyokeres is the first Arsenal player to score 20+ goals across all competitions in his first season since Alexis Sanchez back in 2014-15.
Arsenal opened up a five point gap at the summit of the table after brushing aside Fulham 3-0 at the Emirates thanks to a Viktor Gyokeres brace and a goal from the returning Bukayo Saka on his 200th Premier League start. It was the first time that Saka had scored and assisted in a league game since November 2024.
Gyokeres became the first Arsenal player since Alexis Sanchez in 2014-15 to reach 20+ goals in all competitions during his debut season. He’s also only the third Premier League player to hit 20+ goals league and cup goals this campaign, behind Erling Haaland (36) and Igor Thiago (25).
Fulham’s struggles in this fixture continued, as they remain without a win in their last 33 league visits to Arsenal.

Man City’s slip up
- No side has dropped more points than Manchester City in 2026 (12).
Arsenal may have been labelled as ‘bottlers’ by some quarters in recent weeks, but it’s Manchester City who dropped valuable points on Bank Holiday Monday in a 3-3 draw away to Everton, which left them five points behind the Gunners.
Quite surprisingly, no team has dropped more points from winning positions in the Premier League in 2026 than Pep Guardiola’s side (12 points), who opened the scoring against Everton through Jeremy Doku, only to then concede three second-half goals in the space of 13 chaotic minutes, before rescuing a point through two late goals themselves.
Everton are now the first club in Premier League history to concede a result-altering goal in the 90th minute or later in three straight matches.

Chelsea’s infamous 6
- Chelsea have lost six consecutive league games for the first time since November 1993.
Chelsea were comprehensively beaten 3-1 at home to Nottingham Forest, which condemned the Blues to six successive league losses for the first time since November 1993. If it wasn’t for Joao Pedro’s spectacular injury-time free-kick, they would have lost six straight league games to nil for the first time ever.
Pedro’s goal saw him become only the third Chelsea player to score 15+ non-penalty goals in their first season at Chelsea after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Diego Costa (both 19).
Forest have really hit form, going 10 games unbeaten in all competitions, winning each of their last five on the bounce. They are now six points above the relegation zone with three games to play, and have a Europa League semi-final second-leg to look forward to on Thursday.

Liverpool’s set-piece struggles
- This is now Liverpool’s worst ever Premier League season for goals conceded from set-pieces (17).
Manchester United edged an entertaining five goal spectacle to claim their first league double over Liverpool since 2015-16, which secured the club Champions League football for next season.
Michael Carrick has now accumulated the most points (32) of any manager since he was appointed into the position, while Bruno Fernandes’ tally of 120 chances created in the league this season comfortably leads the way, and is the most of any United player since records began in 2003-04. The Red Devils skipper created a whopping six chances against Liverpool, which is the most by a Man United player on record in this fixture.
Liverpool have now conceded 17 goals from set-pieces in the Premier League this season, which is their most ever in the Premier League era, surpassing their tally of 16 conceded back in 1992-93. Their tally of 46 goals conceded is the most by a defending champion since Leicester City (63) in 2016-17.
On a more positive note, Dominik Szoboszlai became only the third Premier League player to both score and assist 10+ goals (13 goals & 10 assists) in all competitions this season after Rayan Cherki and Jarrod Bowen.
Kroupi at the dozen
- Junior Kroupi, 19, equalled the record for most Premier League goals (12) by a teenager in their debut season.
The Bournemouth steam train continued to roar after Andoni Iraola’s side claimed a dominant 3-0 victory at home to Crystal Palace to extend their club record unbeaten streak to 15 league matches.
The Cherries are now 6th in the table and within six points of Aston Villa (5th) and Liverpool (4th) with three games to go.
19-year-old Junior Kroupi scored Bournemouth’s second goal of the game to propel his tally to 12 Premier League goals, which equalled the record for most goals scored by a teenager in their debut season, alongside Robbie Fowler in 1993-94 and Robbie Keane in 1999-00.
Tottenham’s turnaround
- Tottenham have picked up more points in their last two matches (6) than in the previous 14 matches combined (5).
Tottenham won back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since the opening two matches of the season following a deserved 2-1 win away to off-colour Aston Villa, which was enough to leapfrog Roberto De Zerbi’s side out of the relegation zone above West Ham.
Spurs have now picked up more points in their last two matches (6) than in the previous 14 games combined (5). With three games to go, their top-flight survival is now in their own hands.

Leeds’ hauls
- Leeds have scored 3+ goals in eight Premier League matches this season, joint-third behind only Manchester City (13) and Brentford (9).
Leeds moved seven points clear of the relegation zone after a one-sided 3-1 win at home to relegated Burnley. No team has ever been relegated with Leeds’ tally of 43 points, and a win away to Tottenham will officially confirm their safety.
Leeds, who are unbeaten in six games, have now scored 3+ goals in eight different Premier League matches this season, with only Manchester City (13) and Brentford (9) doing so on more occasions.
Thiago sets the pace in 2026
- Igor Thiago has scored more Premier League goals (11) in 2026 than any other player.
Igor Thiago kept the heat on Erling Haaland in the race for the Golden Boot after he netted his 22nd goal of the season in Brentford’s 3-0 win at home to West Ham.
The Bees striker has now scored more Premier League goals (11) in 2026 than any other player.
As for West Ham, they slipped into the drop zone and now have a 76.77% chance of being relegated this season according to Opta Probability.

Wolves’ meagre May
- Wolves are now winless in their last 11 Premier League matches in May, winning only once in their last 19 matches in this month.
Wolves came back from behind to record a 1-1 draw at home to Sunderland, who played the majority of the game with 10 men following Dan Ballard’s 24th minute sending off.
Wolves may be waiting for the season to end but they did at least make it eight league games unbeaten at home to Sunderland, five of which have been draws. It also ended a run of four straight defeats against promoted sides this season.
However, Wolves have now failed to win any of their last 11 Premier League games in May, winning just one of their last 19 in this month.
Toon’s mid-table mayhem
- Newcastle can still mathematically still get Champions League football or be relegated.
Newcastle ended a rotten run of five straight defeats in all competitions with a surprise 3-1 win at home to in-form Brighton, who suffered their first loss in six. It was only Newcastle’s third win in their last 18 league games against the Seagulls, who they have so often struggled against.
With just three games to go Newcastle, who are 14th on 45 points, can still mathematically secure Champions League football – if Aston Villa win the Europa League and finish 5th, then 6th will qualify – or be relegated, though both outcomes remain highly improbable.
