Premier League TOTW Gameweek 35: Gyokeres leads line as Arsenal take step closer to title

The 2025-26 Premier League was back in full swing with a full round of fixtures in Gameweek 35.

Arsenal were the biggest winners, beating Fulham while Manchester City dropped points against Everton. There was also a change at the bottom of the table, with Tottenham Hotspur leapfrogging West Ham United out of the relegation zone.

GK: Caoimhin Kelleher (Brentford)

  • Squawka Score: 84%

Caoimhin Kelleher played a big part in Brentford’s win over West Ham, keeping his sheet clean at the back. The goalkeeper made four saves, including two from shots inside the box. He prevented 0.66 goals, and also made one punched clearance. Kelleher was decent with the ball at his feet too, completing seven long passes.

Honourable mention: Matz Sels (79%)

Matz Sels may have conceded in Nottingham Forest’s win over Chelsea, but he did save a first-half penalty from Cole Palmer. It was one of four saves he made at Stamford Bridge.

RB: Jayden Bogle (Leeds)

  • Squawka Score: 74%

Jayden Bogle started off the weekend as part of Leeds United’s 3-1 win over Burnley, and he got himself involved. The wing-back set up Noah Okafor for Leeds’ second, with a big chance created. Bogle completed three passes into the final third and had two touches in the opposition box. He also won possession twice in the defensive third and completed two clearances.

Honourable mention: Pedro Porro (71%)

Pedro Porro won four tackles to help Tottenham get a big win over Aston Villa, while also completing five passes into the final third.

CB: Toti Gomes (Wolves)

  • Squawka Score: 71%

Toti Gomes was a busy man at the heart of Wolves’ defence, making seven clearances as they restricted Sunderland to just one goal. He also won two tackles and made one last-man tackle, alongside two interceptions retaining possession. Gomes won possession three times in the defensive third but also completed five passes into the final third.

Honourable mention: Santiago Bueno (69%)

Santiago Bueno was the goalscorer for Wolves against Sunderland, but his performance wasn’t just about that. He also blockes two shots and won both of his aerial duels.

CB: James Hill (Bournemouth)

  • Squawka Score: 71%

Bournemouth kept a clean sheet against Crystal Palace, and James Hill was excellent in their defence. The centre-back completed 10 clearances, with only one centre-back completing more across the Premier League in Gameweek 35. He was excellent with the ball on the floor, winning three tackles and 100% of his ground duels as well as five possessions won in the defensive third.. But Hill also won seven aerial duels, with 70% success rate.

Honourable mention: Gabriel Magalhaes (69%)

Gabriel Magalhaes won 100% of his ground duels and was part of a defence to concede just five shots inside their own box.

LB: Hugo Bueno (Wolves)

  • Squawka Score: 77%

Hugo Bueno put in a decent display for Wolves in their draw with Sunderland. He set up Santiago Bueno’s second-half equaliser from a corner, with a big chance created. Bueno wasn’t just a danger from set-pieces, though, with four touches in the opposition box and 60% crossing accuracy from open play. At the other end of the pitch, Bueno won possession twice in the defensive third, made three clearances and was part of a defence to face just two shots on target while he was on the pitch.

Honourable mention: Marc Cucurella (69%)

Marc Cucurella had six touches in the opposition box for Chelsea and won possession three times in the defensive third.

DM: Declan Rice (Arsenal)

Declan Rice was excellent at the base of Arsenal’s midfield, playing in the deeper role. The Englishman was a big part of Arsenal’s win, winning the midfield battle with two interceptions retaining possesion. He won possession three times in the middle third, won four duels and made six ball recoveries. Rice was solid on the ball too, completing 91.67% of his open-play passes, with 12 accurate forward passes.

Honourable mention: Myles Lewis-Skelly (75%)

Rice’s midfield partner, Myles Lewis-Skelly took most of the plaudits for this display. He completed 96.83% of his open-play passes and won possession four times in the middle third.

DM: Granit Xhaka (Sunderland)

  • Squawka Score: 76%

From a current Arsenal midfield to a former one. Granit Xhaka was a key passer for Sunderland in their draw against Wolves, with 18 accurate forward passes, 10 passes into the final third completed and four into the penalty area. The Swiss star also created one big chance with an intentional assist for Nordi Mukiele’s opening goal. Defensively, Xhaka made nine ball recoveries and won possession four times in the middle third.

Honourable mention: Kobbie Mainoo (73%)

Aside from his goal, Kobbie Mainoo made seven ball recoveries and won possession four times in the middle third for Manchester United against Liverpool.

RW: Dilane Bakwa (Nottingham Forest)

  • Squawka Score: 69%

Dilane Bakwa caused problems in Nottingham Forest’s win over Chelsea. He set up the opening goal just two minutes into the match, with a big chance created. Bakwa completed both of his attempted take-ons, one of his two open-play crosses and completed eight final third passes. The 23-year-old created two big chances in total and had one touch in the opposition box.

Honourable mention: Jacob Murphy (69%)

Jacob Murphy created three chances for Newcastle United in their win over Brighton and Hove Albion, providing an intentional assist.

No.10: Rayan Cherki (Man City)

Rayan Cherki provided an intentional assist for Man City in their draw with Everton, from one of two chances created. The Frenchman completed an incredible 32 final third passes with Man City putting everything into trying to get the three points. His finishing was excellent too, with 0.2 non-penalty xG improving to 0.85 non-penalty post shot xG. Doku created four chances, completed 31 final third passes and had 12 touches in the opposition box. He also won three fouls in the final third and completed five take-ons.

Honourable mention: Leandro Trossard (79%)

Leandro Trossard completed six take-ons for Arsenal against Fulham, creating two big chances and had two shots on target.

ST: Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal)

  • Squawka Score: 83%

Viktor Gyokeres scored twice in Arsenal’s win over Fulham, hitting the target with all four of his shots. His finishing played a big part in it, with 0.95 non-penalty xG leaping to 1.25 non-penalty post-shot xG. The Swede had six touches in the opposition box, completed two lay off passes and provided an intentional assist. This was arguably his best game in an Arsenal shirt, at such a crucial moment.
