Premier League stats and records you might have missed from Gameweek 19

2025 ended with a glut of goals, but 2026 started with somewhat of a whimper, with three of the four Premier League matches ending goalless.

Without further ado, here are the stats you may have missed from gameweek 19.

Early fireworks at Turf Moor

  • Joelinton’s opener at Turf Moor was the quickest goal Burnley have conceded in a Premier League match.

It took Newcastle all of 65 seconds to break the deadlock away to Burnley after Joelinton found the back of the net, which was the quickest goal Burnley have conceded in a Premier League match.

Yoane Wissa doubled the visitors’ lead after seven minutes, and they eventually ran out 3-1 winners to condemn the hosts to their 10th game without a win.

West Ham’s captain consistent

  • No player has more Premier League goal involvements for West Ham than Jarrod Bowen.

Jarrod Bowen continues to be West Ham’s chief attacking threat, with no player recording more Premier League goal involvements for the club.

Although the Hammers were held to a 2-2 draw with Brighton and are now without a win in eight matches, Bowen once again delivered on an individual level, finding the net for the third time in his last five appearances.

That goal also saw the West Ham captain draw level with former teammate Michail Antonio on 101 Premier League goal involvements for the club.

Semenyo’s foul play

  • No player committed more fouls in 2025 across Europe’s top-5 league’s than Antoine Semenyo.

Antoine Semenyo is enjoying an excellent season which looks more than likely to result in a mega move to Manchester City during the January transfer window.

The winger has been directly involved in 12 league goals, scoring nine of them to sit third in the Golden Boot race. Yet despite that attacking output, the 25-year-old also – surprisingly – leads a very different metric, having committed more fouls than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues in 2025 (72).

Everton’s Mr Safe Hands

  • Jordan Pickford made six saves against Nottingham Forest, more than any other goalkeeper in the gameweek.

Jordan Pickford kept his eighth clean sheet of the season in Everton’s 2-0 win away to Nottingham Forest, during which he made the most saves of the gameweek (six).

Only David Raya (7 vs. Man Utd) has made more saves in a Premier League game while keeping a clean sheet this season.

Arsenal’s main man

  • No Arsenal player accumulated more Premier League goal involvements (19), goals (10), and assists (9) than Leandro Trossard in 2025.

Arsenal ended the year with a 4-1 thumping of title rivals Aston Villa, in a game which saw Leandro Trossard both score and assist.

Statistically, the Belgian has been Arsenal’s standout attacking force in 2025, leading his teammates in Premier League goal involvements (19), goals (10), and assists (9). He is also the only Arsenal player to reach double figures for league goals during the calendar year.

Point earned, century conceded

  • Only John Gorman has conceded 100 goals in fewer Premier League matches (42) as a manager than Rob Edwards (46 games).

Wolves finally claimed the first point of Rob Edwards’ reign with a 1-1 draw away at Manchester United, but the result came with an unwelcome landmark for the club’s head coach.

The goal conceded marked the 100th Premier League goal Edwards has overseen as a manager in just 46 matches, making him the second-fastest manager to hit that unwanted three-figure total. Of those goals, 15 have come in eight games at Wolves, with the remaining 85 conceded across 38 games at former club Luton.

Anfield anticlimax

  • Arne Slot saw his Liverpool side draw 0-0 in the league for the first time since his appointment.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that we were in for a treat on New Year’s Day when Liverpool took on Leeds at Anfield, given that the sides had played out a thrilling 3-3 draw one month prior.

However, the floodgates remained firmly shut on Merseyside, as Liverpool played out their first league goalless draw since Arne Slot’s appointment in the summer of 2024.

It was also Leeds’ first away clean sheet of the season and extended their impressive recent resurgence to six games without defeat.

Selhurst stalemate

  • The away side is now unbeaten in each of the last 10 Premier League meetings between Crystal Palace and Fulham.

Two streaks came to an end at Selhurst Park as Crystal Palace picked up their first point in four games, while Fulham’s three-game winning run was halted in the 1-1 draw.

The away side is now unbeaten in each of the last 10 Premier League meetings between the teams (W5 D5).

Spurs’ shutout

  • Tottenham played out their first goalless draw in 138 Premier League games.

Tottenham recorded their first goalless draw in a remarkable 138 Premier League matches, spanning nearly four years, after they were held to a 0-0 stalemate away to Thomas Frank’s former club Brentford.

Funnily enough, Spurs’ previous scoreless draw in the top-flight also came against Frank’s Bees, back in 2022.

While Tottenham continue to endure an inconsistent campaign, there is at least a positive defensive trend to note. They have already kept seven clean sheets this season; surpassing the six they managed under Ange Postecoglou across the entirety of last term.

Stadium of points

  • Sunderland have already picked up six more points at the Stadium of Light this season (20) than in their previous Premier League campaign (14 in 2016/17).

Sunderland sit just one point outside the top five after holding Manchester City to a goalless draw at the Stadium of Light on New Year’s Day.

Their home ground has become a genuine fortress since they returned to the Premier League, with the Black Cats now unbeaten in 10 league matches on Wearside this season; only leaders Arsenal can boast a similarly unblemished home record.

That run has helped Regis Le Bris’ side collect 20 points at home already, six more than the 14 they managed across their 19 home games in their previous Premier League campaign in 2016/17.
