- Moisés Caicedo is the only player to make 5+ interceptions in multiple PL games this season.
Moises Caicedo made five interceptions in Chelsea’s 2-2 away draw at Newcastle and he’s the only player to have achieved that feat more than once this season – having also managed to achieve the same feat against Fulham and Tottenham.
Since he joined Chelsea at the start of the 2023/24 campaign, Caicedo is the only player in the Premier League to have racked up over 200 tackles and 100 interceptions, totalling 242 tackles and 118 interceptions. He’s simply unmatched when it comes to winning the ball back for his team.
Clarets’ comeback curse
- Burnley have failed to win any of their last 38 matches when conceding first in the Premier League
Burnley will have been happy to escape from their trip to Bournemouth on Saturday with a point thanks to a late goal from Armando Broja, but they have now failed to win in any of the last 38 Premier League matches in which they’ve conceded the first goal.
The Clarets have rescued just two points from losing positions so far this term, although the draw they earned here also extended Bournemouth’s winless run to eight Premier League matches.
Haaland hunts down Ronaldo
- Erling Haaland has now scored 104 Premier League goals – the same as Didier Drogba and one more than Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally of 103 Premier League goals was matched by Erling Haaland at the weekend and then beaten as he scored a brace in Manchester City’s 3-0 home win over West Ham United.
The Norwegian also equalled Didier Drogba’s total by scoring his second goal of the game. West Ham are now the team that the unstoppable forward has scored more goals against than any other with a total of 11.
More first-half bore
- Sunderland have failed to score a first-half goal in 12 of their 17 games, no team has failed to do so more often in the Premier League this season.
Not only have Sunderland failed to score in the first-half in 12 of their 17 Premier League games (the joint-highest amount in the league) but they’ve also only conceded in the first half in five of their 17 games.
In their 0-0 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend, the Black Cats took six shots on target – their highest amount so far this season. They were unable to make any of those attempts count, but won’t be too disappointed with a point on the road.
Wolves’ winless woes
- Wolves have become only the fourth club to lose 10+ consecutive Premier League games in the same season.
No team in the history of the English Football League, in any division, has ever reached 17 games with only two points on the board before this Wolves side who suffered their 15th defeat of the season at home to Brentford on Saturday.
They’re now only the fourth club in Premier League history to lose ten consecutive games in the same season and perhaps their biggest goal for the remainder of the season is to somehow find the ten points needed to avoid finishing the season with lowest points total in Premier League history.
Trouble at Tottenham
- Tottenham have lost 11 Premier League home games in a calendar year for the first time ever.
Despite their Europa League victory, it’s been a tough 2025 for Tottenham fans, particularly when it comes to watching their team at home. Their 1-2 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday marked their 11th home loss of the calendar year.
Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz finally got his first Premier League goal contribution in this game, setting up Alexander Isak for the opening goal. For Spurs fans it was more misery at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and they’ll hope for more success at their own ground in 2026.
Arsenal out to end Christmas hoodoo
- Arsenal will lead the Premier League table on Christmas Day for the fifth time – but they have failed to lift the trophy on any of those four previous occasions
Arsenal have won three Premier League titles and have also been top of the Premier League table at Christmas on four occasions – but never before have they sat top of the three on Christmas Day and then gone on to win the league.
The Gunners confirmed that they’ll go into Christmas Day in the top spot by beating Everton 0-1 at the Hill Dickinson on Saturday night thanks to Viktor Gyokeres’ penalty. The Swede has scored all 19 of the penalties he’s taken in league competitions since the start of the 2023/24 season.
Five-game fire for DCL
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin is only the fourth Leeds player to score in five consecutive Premier League games
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in unstoppable form at the moment. He became the first Leeds player to score in five consecutive games since Mark Viduka all the way back in 2003, bagging a first-half brace in the Whites’ 4-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday night.
Those two goals take his career tally against the Eagles to six – the joint-highest amount he’s managed to score against a single opponent. The 28 year old is enjoying some of the best form of his career at the moment.
Rogers reaches double digits
- Morgan Rogers is the first English player to reach double figures for G/A in the Premier League this season
Morgan Rogers has leapfrogged a handful of his England team-mates to become the first English player to reach double figures for goals and assists this season. The Aston Villa man scored his second brace in as many games to reach seven goals and three assists for the campaign.
Rogers’ double against Manchester United on Sunday meant he became the first Villa player to score two or more goals in back-to-back top-flight appearances since Dion Dublin achieved the same feat back in November 1998.
Half century for Silva
- Marco Silva won his 50th Premier League match as manager of Fulham with a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Monday night
Marco Silva’s been a consistently capable manager for Fulham and he clocked up 50 wins in charge of the club on Monday night by earning the Cottagers’ their third consecutive victory over Nottingham Forest.
In total, that’s 90 victories in all competitions for Silva from 205 games in charge, giving him a 43.90% win percentage during his current tenure.
