QPR Squawka Score ratings 2026/27

One defeat in eight has QPR seventh, and four draws in that run tell you how tight Julien Stéphan’s side have been. Ten scored and seven conceded is the lowest-scoring profile in the top half, built on a back four that has kept two clean sheets and rarely been overrun. Below, we take a look at QPR’s most-used XI so far and how each player has performed, based on the Squawka Score rating system.

The Squawka Score is a metric developed to assess a player’s performance relative to other players in the same position. It is shown as a percentage, and it is worth knowing that 66% is average rather than 50% – a 70% is a good afternoon and 85% or above marks out one of the best players on the pitch. Each score is calculated from a range of per-90-minute statistics, taking in the obvious numbers such as goals and assists alongside some more obscure ones that are far more position-specific. A player’s season figure is simply the average of his match ratings.

One note on the Championship: the division does not carry expected-goals data, so these ratings are built on volume and quality of actions – shots, big chances, duels, clearances, passes into the box – rather than xG and xA.

QPR most used starting XI 2026/27 in a 4-4-2: Charles; Mbengue, Dunne, Edwards, Cirkin; Vale, Kamara, Madsen, Smyth; Kone, Burrell

GK: Pierce Charles – 70% – An excellent first season as first choice. Eighteen saves, seven conceded and two clean sheets from every available minute, with 47 progressive passes, 19 possessions regained in his own third and five completed sweeper actions. One error leading to a shot is the only blemish.

RB: Amadou Mbengue – 65% – An assist, 29 duels won, 13 aerials and a club-leading 10 interceptions from seven starts. Mbengue has been a reliable presence on the right without offering much beyond the defensive side.

RCB: Jimmy Dunne – 68% – The captain leads QPR for clearances with 44 and progressive passes with 54, adding 18 aerial duels won, nine interceptions and a goal. An error leading to a goal is the one blot on an otherwise authoritative start.

LCB: Ronnie Edwards – 67% – Every available minute, 41 clearances, eight interceptions, six tackles won and a club-leading 22 possessions regained in the middle third, plus an assist. Two clean sheets and one error charged. Edwards has been the quieter half of a well-drilled pairing.

LB: Dennis Cirkin – 66% – Only four starts, and they ended in a red card. Three blocked shots in 298 minutes is a thin return, and the suspension has cost QPR continuity down the left at a point where they were settling.

RM: Harvey Vale – 73% – Seventeen chances created and five clear-cut, both club highs, along with 55 passes into the penalty area, 17 shots and 20 corners taken. Vale has been by some distance QPR’s most dangerous attacking player. Three big chances missed is the one frustration.

RCM: Glen Kamara – 71% – Ninety-eight passes into the final third is the most at the club, with 29 duels won, 14 chances created and six completed take-ons, all from just three starts across six appearances. Ten fouls is high, but Kamara raises the level whenever he plays.

LCM: Nicolas Madsen – 72% – Thirty-four passes into the penalty area and 94 into the final third from five starts, with 17 corners and two direct free-kicks. Madsen shares the dead-ball work with Vale and keeps the ball moving through the middle.

LM: Paul Smyth – 71% – Two goals from a club-high six shots on target, with seven tackles won and five completed take-ons in only four starts. Smyth has been efficient with limited minutes and has a case for more of them.

RST: Richard Kone – 61% – Three appearances, 158 minutes and two big chances missed. Far too small a sample to judge, and the lowest rating in the side is a reflection of the minutes rather than a verdict on the player.

LST: Rumarn Burrell – 66% – Two goals, an assist and 12 chances created, with 34 touches in the opposition box, the most in the side. Forty-one duels lost is the worst figure at the club and three big chances have gone begging, but Burrell has carried the line for most of the season.

Worth a mention: Ilias Chair has rated at 80% across three appearances, the highest figure at the club.

QPR’s set-piece specialists

  • Penalties: Ilias Chair
  • Free-kicks: Nicolas Madsen, Ilias Chair
  • Corners: Harvey Vale, Nicolas Madsen

Harvey Vale has taken 20 of QPR’s corners to Nicolas Madsen’s 17. Nicolas Madsen has had two of the direct free-kicks. QPR are yet to be awarded a penalty, so Ilias Chair’s status as the taker is inherited rather than proven.
