Arsenal return from the international break with a Premier League trip across London to face Fulham. Anthony Taylor will be the referee.
Taylor is one of five men to have refereed six Premier League games this season, and he’s been pretty lenient. He has awarded 115 fouls, the fewest of the five referees with six games, and has only shown 18 cards. A reminder that Taylor once showed 14 yellow cards in a single game last season.
Taylor has also awarded two penalties in the Premier League this season, and four across all competitions — also officiating in the Champions League. Taylor is normally the referee for the big matches, already officiating the Manchester derby and Chelsea’s game against Liverpool before the international break.
Arsenal return from the international break top of the league and will be hoping to keep hold of their spot. Hosts Fulham will be looking to end a losing streak to climb back up the table.

Anthony Taylor’s Fulham record
Taylor is one of the most-experienced referees in England, so it’s no surprise to see some high numbers. The referee has been in the middle for 29 Fulham games, though only two came last season. Although the Cottagers lost those games, they weren’t on Taylor’s bad side, with just one yellow card shown across the two matches. Fulham have actually lost their past five games when Taylor has been referee, though that is more down to the opponents played rather than the man in the middle.

What’s happened when Anthony Taylor has refereed at Craven Cottage?
Taylor doesn’t often referee at Craven Cottage. Of the 25 Fulham games he has refereed in the Premier League, only seven have come at Craven Cottage. That does include each of the past three, but it ended a 10-year streak. The standout game of those three recent matches was his return to Craven Cottage. Taylor sent off Issa Diop and awarded a penalty against Fulham, as Manchester City beat the Cottagers 0-4 in London.

Anthony Taylor’s Arsenal record
This will be Taylor’s 56th time overseeing an Arsenal game. He’s only been referee of Liverpool (68) more times, with Chelsea also experiencing Taylor on 56 occasions. Arsenal have won 31 of those matches and lost just eight times. The Gunners are unbeaten in their past eight matches with Taylor as referee, though five of those have been drawn. And in their most-recent match under Taylor, Arsenal were reduced to 10 men, with Mikel Merino sent off for two yellow cards in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in May 2025.

Why will Arsenal fans be frustrated to see Anthony Taylor?
Chelsea fans are often annoyed when Taylor is the referee for their matches. But Arsenal fans may have more cause. Taylor has shown Arsenal seven red cards during his career, more than any other club. Four of those reds were for two yellows, the most of any club. And he’s only shown Man City and Newcastle United (both four) more straight reds than the three he’s given to Arsenal.
What should we expect from Anthony Taylor?
You never really know what you’re going to get from Taylor. He’s known for being quite card happy at times, but he also appears to have mellowed slightly. Given his red card history with Arsenal, there’s a chance that the Gunners may end the man with 10 men or fewer. But they also look to have learned from their own mistakes in that regard.
