Premier League stats and records you might see in Gameweek 7

Chelsea’s clash at home to Liverpool headlines the upcoming wave of Premier League fixtures as both clubs look to bounce back from top-flight defeats last weekend.

Elsewhere, in-form Sunderland will look to pile the pressure on Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, West Ham United eye another shock win at the Emirates, and Pep Guardiola is on the cusp of making another managerial milestone at Manchester City.

Read on for a breakdown of all the stats and stories you might see this weekend.

Freescoring Semenyo

  • If Antoine Semenyo scores he will have accrued more Premier League goals than any other player since the start of April.

What a season Antoine Semenyo is having. The Bournemouth star has been in electric form, netting four goals and providing two assists in six games, playing a key role behind the Cherries’ best-ever start to a Premier League season.

If Semenyo finds the back of the net at home to Fulham on Friday night, he will have collected more Premier League goals than any other player since the start of April, overtaking Jarrod Bowen and Erling Haaland, with whom he is currently tied on nine goals in that period.

On top of that, should Bournemouth win the game, they will storm up to second spot in the table.

Tottenham seek to spoil fortress Elland Road

  • Tottenham travel up to Yorkshire on Saturday lunchtime looking to do what no visiting side has managed in over a year: win a league match at Elland Road.

Leeds have made a solid return to the Premier League, with two wins, two draws, and two defeats from their opening six matches. Daniel Farke’s men have taken five points from three league home games, which has extended their unbeaten league run at Elland Road to 23 matches.

That record faces a serious challenge on Saturday lunchtime, as fourth-placed Tottenham, led by Thomas Frank, visit Yorkshire aiming to become the first away team to leave Elland Road with three points since Burnley on 14th September 2025. It’s worth noting that they have won 4-0 and 4-1 on their last two visits.

Xhaka accumulating assists

  • Granit Xhaka can assist Sunderland’s opening goal for the fourth straight Premier League game.

Granit Xhaka has made an instant impact at Sunderland following his summer move from Bayer Leverkusen, providing three assists in his last four games to help fire the Black Cats to fifth in the table.

With momentum on their side, Sunderland will be quietly confident heading into this weekend’s clash away to Man Utd and their under-fire boss Ruben Amorim. If the in-form Xhaka sets up Sunderland’s opening goal at Old Trafford, he’ll become just the second player in the club’s history to assist four consecutive Premier League goals, after Chris Waddle back in 1997.

Furthermore, should Sunderland avoid defeat, they will already have equalled Southampton’s 11-point tally from the whole of last season.

West Ham eye Emirates hat-trick

  • West Ham can become just the second side to win three consecutive Premier League away games against Arsenal.

After securing a decent point away to Everton in his first match in charge, new West Ham boss Nuno Santo will now be eyeing up a huge upset on Saturday when he takes his side across the capital to the Emirates.

West Ham may have endured a poor start to the season, but they can draw on an impressive recent record away to Arsenal, having won on each of their last two visits. Should the Hammers stun the Gunners again, they will become only the second side in the Premier League era to win three consecutive away games at the Emirates.

Man City are the only club to achieve this, with a staggering six straight away wins from 2018 to 2023.

Salah seeks Big Six double-figure sweep

  • If Mo Salah scores or assists against former club Chelsea, he will have been directly involved in 10+ goals against all five other members of the ‘Big Six’ in the Premier League.

Mo Salah may not have been at his brilliant best so far this season, but there’s no questioning his stunning record when it comes to facing the ‘Big Six’, whom he has 71 goal involvements for Liverpool:

  • 19 vs Man Utd
  • 16 vs Tottenham
  • 15 vs Man City
  • 12 vs Arsenal
  • 9 vs Chelsea

If the Liverpool winger scores or assists against Chelsea on Saturday evening, he will have recorded 10+ goal involvements against every other member of the ‘Big Six’.

Can Wolves avoid more Molineux misery?

  • Wolves could become the first club in top-flight history to lose their opening four home games in consecutive seasons.

Wolves remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with one point from a possible 18 so far, leaving the club five points adrift of safety. On the plus side, they did end their rotten run of five straight defeats following a draw at Tottenham.

On Sunday, Wolves return to Molineux, where they’ve lost each of their three league games this season. Another defeat – to a Brighton side that have claimed the spoils in each of their last four visits – would see Wolves become the first team in top-flight history to lose their opening four home matches in consecutive seasons.

Three’s a charm for Woltemade?

  • Nick Woltemade is bidding to become just the third Newcastle player to score in each of his first three Premier League home games.

Nick Woltemade has hit the ground running at Newcastle, scoring three goals in his first five appearances across all competitions, including the opener in the 4-0 Champions League rout of Union SG earlier this week.

Should the striker score at home to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, he would become just the third player to score in each of his first three Premier League home games for Newcastle, joining club legends Les Ferdinand (1995) and Alan Shearer (1996).

Palace go for unbeaten league record

  • Crystal Palace are gunning to go 13 top-flight league games unbeaten for the first time in their history.

Crystal Palace stunned Liverpool at Selhurst Park last weekend to equal a club record of 18 matches unbeaten in all competitions.

The Eagles are now targeting more history against another Merseyside opponent this weekend. Should they avoid defeat against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, they will have gone undefeated in 13 straight top-flight matches for the first time ever.

Burnley’s contrasting seasons

  • If Burnley concede 4 goals this weekend they will have leaked in more goals this season than the whole of last season (16).

Burnley have already conceded 13 goals in just six Premier League games, just three fewer than the 16 they conceded in the entire 46-game 2024-25 Championship season.

If the Clarets ship four or more at Villa Park this weekend, Scott Parker’s side will have conceded more goals in seven Premier League games than they did during their entire promotion-winning campaign (16).

Guardiola one win away from managerial milestone

  • Pep Guardiola can reach 250 top-flight wins for a single club in record time.

With 249 wins from 348 Premier League matches, Pep Guardiola has the opportunity to notch his 250th top-flight win if Man City defeat Brentford this weekend.

In doing so, Guardiola would become just the 16th manager to achieve 250 top-flight victories with a single club. Incredibly, he’d reach the mark in just 349 games, a staggering 74 games faster than anyone else in English football history.
