Chelsea team news vs West Ham

Liam Rosenior will remain without Levi Colwill who is out due to a long term knee injury (ACL), while Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia also currently remain unavailable.

This means the midfield options remain sparse, especially as Rosenior is currently opting for a midfield three, utilising Andrey Santos, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez together.

Tosin Adarabioyo is also unavailable due to a thigh injury, not expected to return until mid February, while Mykhailo Mudryk remains out due to suspension.

Joao Pedro’s red hot form

Joao Pedro joined Chelsea this summer from Brighton, signing for the London club for a fee of around £60m, joining in June and playing a part in the Blues FIFA Club World Cup winning campaign.

Since arriving at Chelsea, the Brazilian has netted 14 goals in all competitions and provided four assists, including a goal in the Club World Cup final against PSG.

But since Rosenior’s arrival, the 24-year-old has hit some red hot form, scoring four goals in his last three games.

Pedro scored in both the Brentford and Crystal Palace wins in the Premier League to secure back to back league wins for the Blues, before netting a brace in the UEFA Champions League against Napoli.

From his four shots against Napoli, Pedro generated 0.89 expected goals and scored two goals, firing Chelsea to their important 3-2 victory in Naples.

With this patch of form coming at a crucial stage of the season, it will be interesting to see if Liam Delap struggles for minutes or if Rosenior still looks to rotate the pair and play both of his strikers into form for the back end of the campaign.
