The Seagulls certainly impressed on their travels especially towards the back end of last season. Indeed, they have found the net at least twice in nine of their 11 matches away from the Amex Stadium in 2025. That will certainly stand them in good stead on what will be an emotional curtain raiser at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
They carried that decent form into the new season, securing a 1-1 draw with Fulham on the opening day and we’re backing them to build on that result by scoring at least twice against Everton.

The home side will hope to be spurred on by the occasion. That emotion – combined with early-season rustiness – may see a couple of big tackles get mistimed in the heart of midfield. Idrissa Gueye, who signed a new deal with Everton in June, completed the most tackles in the Premier League season, but one or two may go slightly astray here.
The tough tackling midfielder was certainly no stranger to the referees in the Premier league last season, picking up 11 yellow cards and, although we’re not backing him to go into the book this weekend, there could definitely be plenty of fouls racked up next to his name.

Everton will mark the first game in their new stadium with this fixture and there is certain to be plenty of emotion surrounding the match. They don’t go into the fixture with a winning record though, falling to a 1-0 defeat to Leeds on Monday night.
Everton failed to win any of their pre-season games and, whilst too much can’t be gleamed from pre-season, they certainly aren’t in good form heading into this one. Their result against Leeds was accompanied by a poor performance too and things will have to improve if they hope to beat Brighton.
Brighton were close to securing all three points on the opening weekend of the season, with a 97th minute equaliser by Fulham stopping them from claiming the win.
The Seagulls won each of their last three games last term and, after finishing eighth (narrowly missing out on European football), will want to kick on again this campaign and pick up the victory.

Everton have bolstered their creative options during this window with the purchase of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea, along with Manchester City winger Grealish on a season-long loan. Both players are likely to feature here, though Vitalii Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson are long-term injury absentees, whilst Jarrad Branthwaite will also be missing through injury.

Solly March and Adam Webster are long-term injury absentees for Brighton, while Julio Enciso and Diego Gomez are also unavailable. Although, the Seagulls were boosted by the returns of Carlos Baleba and Jack Hinshelwood from injury. New signing Charalampos Kostoulas is expected to make the bench after missing out last weekend through a lack of match fitness.
