AT&T Stadium: History

AT&T Stadium is an American football stadium, home of NFL side Dallas Cowboys. It opened in 2009 and started hosting the Cowboys’ NFL games from the 2009 season. Since then, AT&T Stadium has hosted Super Bowl XLV as well as other major events, including two WrestleManias and multiple big boxing fights.

The likes of Taylor Swift, Beyonce, the Rolling Stones, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar have all played concerts at AT&T Stadium.

In terms of football, AT&T Stadium held its first game at the 2009 Concacaf Gold Cup — a quarter-final between Costa Rica and Guadeloupe. On the same day, it hosted Mexico’s match against Haiti. That same summer, Chelsea played Club America in a pre-season friendly at the stadium, winning 2-0.

AT&T Stadium has been a regular host of Concacaf Gold Cup games, including the USA’s 3-1 semi-final win over Honduras in 2013 — their first ever match at the stadium. It’s yet to hold a Gold Cup final, though.
