SoFi Stadium: History

One of the newest and most impressive stadiums in American Sports, the SoFi Stadium opened in 2020 and is home to not one, but two NFL teams in the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers.

The modern-looking arena has a huge roof that covers not only the sports arena, but also the attached 6,000-seater YouTube Theater and pedestrian plaza. A double-sided 4K video board, known as the Infinity Screen, hangs from the roof and is the first of its kind, displaying 80 million pixels and containing a 260-speaker audio system.

And if that wasn’t impressive enough, the flexibility of this stadium will be on full display at the 2028 Olympics, where it is set to joint-host the opening ceremony before being transformed temporarily into a swimming venue for the duration of the event.

The stadium hosted the Super Bowl LVI in 2022 and is set to receive the same honour for Super Bowl LXI in 2027, and it also hosted the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Final, where Mexico ran out 1-0 winners over Panama in front of a 72,000-strong crowd. It has hosted a handful of other football games, including two 2024 Copa America matches, the 2025 Concacaf Nations League Finals and two Arsenal pre-season friendlies versus Barcelona in 2023 and Manchester United in 2024.
