The full fixture list for the 2025-26 Premier League season has been released.
It’s barely been a month since the 2024-25 campaign ended with Liverpool lifting a 20th top-flight title. But eyes now turn to the new season.
As always, the middle of June brings the releasing of the new season’s fixture list, and Premier League fans now know who their teams will be facing and when. Of course, fixtures are subject to change with TV schedules and European commitments. But we have a base to build on, with the season running from Friday 15th August 2025 until Sunday 24th May 2026.
So, who are your teams playing on the key dates of the season: Opening weekend, Boxing Day and the final day?
2025-26 Premier League opening weekend fixtures
The Premier League’s opening weekend is once again spread across four days. It starts on Friday 15th August with Premier League champions Liverpool hosting Bournemouth at Anfield.
The standout game for the weekend is on Sunday 17th August, when Arsenal travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United. Elsewhere, there’s a London derby between Chelsea and Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
Sunderland kick off their return to the Premier League with a home game against West Ham United, while Burnley travel to Tottenham Hotspur. The opening weekend closes with another newly-promoted side, Leeds United, hosting Everton.

2025-26 Premier League Boxing Day fixtures
There aren’t actually any fixtures planned for Boxing Day as things stand. Matchweek 18 of the 2025-26 Premier League season is slated to start on Saturday 27th December, the day after Boxing Day. But that could change when it comes to picking games for TV — and hopefully so. A Boxing Day without football isn’t Boxing Day at all.
The Premier League generally try to keep travel as minimal as possible around the Christmas period, so we normally see a derby or two — or at least local enough matches. This season, Tottenham have two away games between Christmas and New Year’s, but both are London derbies against Crystal Palace and Brentford respectively.
Also this year, the two matches between Christmas and New Year’s will see 10 teams play both at home, and the other 10 play both away.

We’ve worked this out by looking at the miles between the two stadiums as the crow flies. Newcastle United have the farthest distance to travel, with just under 108 miles between St James’ Park and Manchester United’s Old Trafford.
Aston Villa are the only other team with over 100 miles to travel, when they visit Stamford Bridge. Aston Villa fans also had to travel just over 179 miles to St James’ Park for Boxing Day 2024.
Fulham have the shortest journey, with just 9.84 miles between Craven Cottage and the London Stadium as the crow flies.

2025-26 Premier League final day fixtures
The 2025-26 Premier League season ends on Sunday 24th May 2026, and fans will be hoping for a bit more excitement than the final day of the 2024-25 campaign. Liverpool and Manchester City fans dreaming of a Premier League title would have the opportunity to see their teams lift the trophy at home on the final day. Liverpool host Brentford, while Man City welcome Aston Villa to the Etihad Stadium.
If the title goes to the final day and Arsenal take it, they’d have to settle for lifting the trophy across London as they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

2025-26 Premier League Big Six fixtures and derbies
As well as these specific dates, fans look to see when they’ll be facing their closest rivals. The big rivalry to return to the Premier League this season is the Tyne-Weir derby between Newcastle and Sunderland. The first Tyne-Weir derby of the season sees Sunderland host Newcastle at the Stadium of Light in Matchweek 16, around Saturday 13th December. Sunderland travel to St James’ Park in Matchweek 31, around Saturday 21st March.
Fans only have to watch until Matchweek 3 for the first battle between last season’s top two, with Liverpool hosting Arsenal at the end of August. Arsenal welcome Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium early in 2026, with midweek Matchweek 21 around Wednesday 7th January. The two North London derbies are set for Matchweeks 12 and 27.
The first Premier League Merseyside derby at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium is set for Matchweek 33, around Saturday 18th April.
