Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest prediction, stats, tips & team news

Arsenal will be looking to bounce back when they host Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 13th September at 12:30pm.

The Gunners went into the international break off the back of a defeat. Nottingham Forest also suffered defeat before the break, signalling the end of Nuno Espirito Santos’ time in charge of the club. He’s been replaced by Ange Postecoglu, who leads Forest for the first time in this match. This game will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1.

Arsenal to win and over 2.5 goals (1/1 with Sky Bet)

Arsenal have won their past six home game against Nottingham Forest across all competitions. They have a comprehensive record against Forest and we think that the Gunners will be on the winning side here, once again. Five of those past six meetings have all seen at least three goals scored, with Arsenal scoring 19 goals in those matches. We’re expecting a high scoring affair at the Emirates this weekend and one that Arsenal should come out on top of.

Elliot Anderson to make over 2.5 tackles (1/2 with Sky Bet)

Elliot Anderson has made 12 tackles across his three games in the Premier League this season. Two of those matches have seen him make at least three tackles. It’s been an impressive start to the season for Anderson, who has also made his England debut in that time, and he’ll be key in keeping Arsenal at bay this weekend.

How both teams go into Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest

Arsenal had started the new season well, with two wins from their opening two games. The Gunners narrowly beat Manchester United on the opening weekend before thrashing Leeds United. But that came to an end with a narrow defeat to Liverpool. It was a meeting between last season’s top two and there wasn’t much to separate to the two sides. But Arsenal are the team now looking to bounce back when club football returns. This also kicks off an extremely busy period with the Champions League and EFL Cup dominating in September.

Nottingham Forest have had an indifferent start to the new season, with four points from their opening three games. The Tricky Trees did start the campaign with a win over Brentford on the opening weekend. But they then drew against Crystal Palace and then lost at home to West Ham United. It leaves Forest 10th in the table. And they’re about to experience a congested fixture list too, with Europa League and EFL Cup football to come.

Arsenal team news

William Saliba had to come off after five minutes against Liverpool, and looks very unlikely to feature in this game, meaning Piero Hincapié could make his full debut for the Gunners. Benjamin White and Christian Norgaard will also be assessed over the break, with both hoping to make their returns to full fitness. Bukayo Saka isn’t expected back until later in the month, while Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz are long-term absentees and definitely won’t play a part.

Nottingham Forest team news

Nicolas Dominguez is out long-term but he is Forest’s only absentee at this early stage of the season. This will be Ange Postecoglu’s first game in charge of Nottingham Forest and it remains to be seen who will make his first teamsheet.

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest head-to-head

Arsenal are unbeaten in their past four league games against Nottingham Forest, winning three. The most recent game was drawn, but that was at the City Ground. Arsenal haven’t lost a home game to Nottingham Forest since 1989.
