FPL tips: Which Newcastle and Brighton players to pick for Double Gameweek 36

There’s not long left in the FPL season and, with a double gameweek for both Newcastle and Brighton, we’ve highlighted some players you should consider bringing in to your side.

Newcastle take on Leeds on Saturday, whilst Brighton travel to North London to meet Arsenal, before the two sides clash on Thursday evening. Both sides still harbour European aspirations this season so there’s plenty on the line and picking the right players could provide you with the points you need to take advantage in your leagues.

With that in mind, here are our six players you should think about picking up ahead of the weekend’s action.

Newcastle

Sven Botman (£4.5m)
FPL Points so far: 115

Botman has become a mainstay in the Newcastle defence since his arrival at the club last summer. The entire back four of the Magpies (as well as Nick Pope in goal) has excelled this season, each picking up over 100 points. Whilst he hasn’t found the net this season, he has been a constant threat from set pieces and chipped in with two assists in his first season in English football.

Jacob Murphy (£4.2m)
FPL Points so far: 76

There weren’t too many people that would’ve said Jacob Murphy would be leading the charge for Newcastle this season but the 28 year old has really stepped up, especially in recent weeks where he’s scored three as Newcastle continue their march towards Champions League football.

Alexander Isak (£7.0m)
FPL Points so far: 90

There is a constant struggle when deciding which Newcastle striker to select this season. Isak has scored 10 times whilst Callum Wilson has found the net 15 times. We think Isak is going to have the better week this time around though as he chases down his strike partner in the scoring charts.

Brighton

Pervis Estupinan (£4.9m)
FPL Points so far: 106

It’s been a fantastic first season for Estupinan on the South Coast, with the left back putting in some terrific performances since his arrival from Villarreal. Six assists have given him a great output in the final third and, when coupled with nine clean sheets, he’s produced some of the most well rounded performances this season for a defender.

Alexis Mac Allister (£5.5m)
FPL Points so far: 76

Mac Allister might move on from the AMEX this summer but what a year it has been for the Argentine. A World Cup win, 10 goals for his club and some standout performances throughout have seen Mac Allister linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs. It could be another big week for him, especially with him being Brighton’s primary penalty taker.

Danny Welbeck (£6.5m)
FPL Points so far: 86

Six goals and five assists have seen Welbeck produce one of his most impressive seasons in recent memory. His ability to lead the line for his club have not only seen him excel, but also given the players around him the chance to thrive. Three goals in his last five games have seen him secure his place in the Brighton starting eleven as the season draws to an end.
