FPL wildcard tips: Our complete fantasy football squad for gameweek 33

It’s a busy week of Premier League action with two gameweeks in a matter of days. Here we’ve put together a full squad that you should consider with the next seven days in mind.

There could be massive implications at both ends of the table this week with Manchester City hosting Arsenal in what could prove to be a title decider.

Tottenham and Manchester United clash with both sides having Champions League qualification on their mind, whilst Leicester travel to Leeds in a massive relegation battle.

With that in mind, we’ve assembled a 15-man squad (within a budget of 100M) you should be considering, taking into account value, points, performances and fixtures when using your wildcard ahead of another huge week of Premier League action.

Gameweek 33 Wildcard picks

Robert Sanchez (£4.5m)

FPL points so far: 82
Fixture: Nottingham Forest (A)

Sanchez hasn’t picked up many points in recent weeks but he’s got two favourable fixtures in the next week, starting with a game against a Nottingham Forest side that have picked up three points from a possible 33. The Brighton stopper in the first half of the season, regularly claiming at least six points per game and it could be a return to form for the Spanish keeper this week.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m)

FPL points so far: 115
Fixture: West Ham (A)

There isn’t any denying that Liverpool’s change in shape has benefitted not only their results, but the performances of Alexander-Arnold and the right back has now grabbed four assists in his last three games. The emphasis on getting Alexander-Arnold higher up the pitch has definitely had the desired effect and he could pick up another big points haul this week.

Kieran Trippier (£6.2m)

FPL points so far: 173
Fixture: Everton (A)

It’s hard to argue against Trippier being involved even after a relatively quiet few weeks for the Newcastle right back. He’s the leading points scoring defender this season, contributing one goal and seven assists, and Newcastle come up against a toothless looking Everton side this week before hosting Southampton at the weekend meaning there could be some clean sheet bonuses available for Trippier.

Manuel Akanji (£5m)

FPL points so far: 68
Fixture: Arsenal (H)

The Swiss centre back has been shining since his move to the club at the beginning of the season. He’s established himself as one of the defensive three for Pep Guardiola on a regular basis and is averaging three points per match this season but this total has increased to four points per match over his last five games.

Kaoru Mitoma (£5.6m)

FPL points so far: 114
Fixture: Nottingham Forest (A)

Perhaps the breakout player of the season, Mitoma has now gone 15 games without drawing a blank in FPL. He’s averaged just over six points a game across those 15 matches, making him one of the most dependable midfield options this season. A game against Nottingham Forest, who have conceded 59 goals this season, could be the ideal fixture to see Mitoma boost his stock even further.

Riyad Mahrez (£7.3m)

FPL points so far: 91
Fixture: Arsenal (H)

It was quite the weekend for Mahrez, with the Algerian scoring a hat trick against Sheffield United to send Man City through to the FA Cup final. It couldn’t have come at a better time for both player, and club, with a huge title decider against Arsenal coming up on Wednesday. Could Mahrez be the difference maker at the Etihad?

Eberechi Eze (£5.6m)

FPL points so far: 123
Fixture: Wolves (A)

Crystal Palace’s Premier League safety is all but assured following three wins and a draw since Roy Hodgson returned to the club. The man main for Palace has been Eze in recent weeks, with the midfielder grabbing 31 points from those four games and there is another attractive fixture for the 24 year old on Tuesday when his side travel to Wolves.

Mo Salah (£12.9m)

FPL points so far: 187
Fixture: West Ham (A)

A ‘disappointing’ season for Salah has seen him score 16 goals and contribute eight assists this season. That’s the level that the Egyptian has set for himself and he’s definitely seen an improvement in recent weeks, scoring 21 FPL points in the past two games. A match against West Ham on Wednesday night could see the attacker increase his total further, especially with Liverpool looking more like their old selves in recent games.

Erling Haaland (£12.2m)

FPL points so far: 227
Fixture: Arsenal (H)

We all had to cope without the big Norwegian last weekend but he’s back this week and, with Haaland needing just two goals to equal the record for most goals in a season, he’ll be gunning for goals against Arsenal. You can’t really leave the 22 year old out of your line up, and he’s probably still the best choice to be your captain.

Diogo Jota (£8.8m)

FPL points so far: 57
Fixture: West Ham (A)

It was a long road back to fitness for Jota but he’s back and scoring goals. He’s found the net four times in his last two games and, looking back over his scoring record for Liverpool, he’s always been a fan of a purple patch.  Over the past two seasons he’s scored in three or more games in a row on five separate occasions and you wouldn’t bet against him making it six against West Ham.

Alexander Isak (£6.8m)

FPL points so far: 80
Fixture: Everton (A)

It’s been an incredible seven weeks for Isak in FPL. Seven goals in the period has seen the Swede pick up 48 FPL points as Newcastle close in on Champions League qualification. It’s an enticing looking fixture for Newcastle this weekend with a trip to an Everton side that have gone five games without a win, conceding eight along the way.

Sam Johnstone (£4.4m)

FPL points so far: 23
Fixture: Wolves (A)

Marc Guehi (£4.5m)

FPL points so far: 82
Fixture: Wolves (A)

Alex Moreno (£4.5m)

FPL points so far: 58
Fixture: Fulham (H)

Andreas Pereira (£4.4m)

FPL points so far: 120
Fixture: Aston Villa (A)
