Ruslan Malinovskyi scored twice including a stunning strike to seal a superb win for Atalanta over Olympiakos.
The 0-3 win on the night led them to a 1-5 aggregate victory and a path into the Europa League round of 16.
The Ukraine midfielder’s second goal was also a record-setting strike as it meant he has now scored 7 goals from outside the box so far this season. That is a record among Europe’s top five leagues plus Champions League and Europa League matches.

Malinovskyi’s first goal was a cool, measured strike from just inside the box. The winger received a pass from Teun Koopmeiners and just leathered it into the roof of the net beyond the despairing goalkeeper.
The second, and record-breaking goal, was a similar kind of strike as he stepped up with little backlift to launch the ball into the net, only this time he shot from fully 30 yards out. It was a devastating goal.
Malinvoskyi played superbly besides the goal, taking a game-high 5 shots, with 3 hitting the target. He took 3 touches in the opponent’s box, completed 23/29 passes, made 10 passes into the final third, completed 4/5 take-ons, winning 10/18 duels in general and even winning 5 fouls.
Pure brilliance from the Ukrainian.
