Ronaldinho believes Kylian Mbappe will remain at Paris Saint-Germain “for a long time”, despite heavy links to Real Madrid amid uncertainties over his current contract at the club.
The 23-year-old superstar has just six months remaining on his present deal at the Parc des Princes and will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs at the start of next month.
Real are the club who have been most heavily associated with Mbappe’s name, though the Parisian recently ruled out a January move.
“No, I’m not joining Real Madrid in January. In January it’s not happening,” he told CNN. “I’m with PSG, I’m really happy and I will 100 per cent finish the season as PSG player.”
However, a breakthrough in discussions with PSG over an extension to his current deal has yet to be realised, adding fuel to the fire that Mbappe could be on the move to the Spanish capital once the 2021/22 season is over.
Despite the speculation, former PSG talisman Ronaldinho believes Mbappe will ultimately put pen to paper on fresh terms with the club and remain there “for a long time”, believing the consummate attacker has no reason to leave as he’s currently playing for the best club in world football.
Ronaldinho told PSG’s official YouTube channel: “All the players in the world want to play at Paris Saint-Germain, the best in the world are at PSG, so they’re the best club in the world.

“So I imagine he [Mbappe] will be here for a long time.”
Ronaldinho also gave his thoughts on the World Cup winner’s chances of scooping club football’s most coveted and elusive trophy: the Champions League. The Brazilian legend, who won the trophy in 2006 with Barcelona, rates PSG’s chances highly this term.
He added: “Today, Paris Saint-Germain is a world benchmark. It would be great for his career, he is so young and has already achieved so many things.
“I think the Champions League is something that he is missing. And it would be wonderful if he won it with Paris Saint-Germain.
“Everyone imagines that they have a chance to win the Champions League, because of the group of players they have.”
