Everyone loves a winner, especially in the Premier League.
While not every manager in England’s top flight can win the title come the end of the season, in fact only 11 managers have won England’s top division since its breakaway in 1992, every manager can win games. They can guide their side to victory each and every week and bring their fans so much joy in doing so.
But which manager has done this the most? Of the current managers active in the Premier League, who has the most wins? And more importantly, who has the biggest winning percentage? We took a look and found out.
19. Daniel Farke
Club: Norwich
Games: 48
Wins: 5
Win Percentage: 10%
Daniel Farke has managed Norwich for two and a third Premier League campaigns and despite his noble ambitions to play an expansive, attacking style of play as well as his lovely voice, he just cannot get it going at this level. He’s been relegated once, and probably will be again.
18. Patrick Vieira
Club: Crystal Palace
Games: 10
Wins: 2
Win Percentage: 20%
While results may not show it, Patrick Vieira is doing an impressive job at Crystal Palace, transforming the style and philosophy of the London club into a progressive and exciting one. He’s won just two of his 10 Premier League games, but you get the sense bigger things are around the corner for the legendary Frenchman.
17. Graham Potter
Club: Brighton

Wins: 22
Win Percentage: 26%
Brighton were a sensational team to watch last season and if they had a consistent goalscorer then Graham Potter would have a lot more than just 22 wins as a Premier League manager. Potter is a strange case because results don’t back up the good work he is doing on the south coast and you’d like to see him get a chance with a bigger and better club.
16. Sean Dyche
Club: Burnley
Games: 238
Wins: 69
Win Percentage: 29%
Ever the scrapper, Sean Dyche’s win percentage of 29% is pretty miserable but frankly eeking 69 wins out of what is a clearly limited Burnley squad is really nice. Simply keeping Burnley in the league long enough to have managed 238 games is a big enough achievement to make Dyche a revered coach. Actually winning more than 30% of his games would be miraculous.
15. Thomas Frank
Club: Brentford
Games: 10
Wins: 3
Win Percentage: 30%
It’s early days yet so time will tell if Thomas Frank’s Brentford will go the way of Norwich or rise and become a Premier League mainstay. Early signs are positive, however, as Brentford play sensational football and have given every opponent a really tough game.
14. Dean Smith
Club: Aston Villa

Wins: 28
Win Percentage: 33%
Dean Smith survived his first season thanks to a technical glitch but in his second he showed a glimpse of what he can do as Aston Villa shone. He’s struggling in the post-Grealish era (who wouldn’t?) but there’s potential there.
13. Ralph Hasenhuttl
Club: Southampton

Wins: 37
Win Percentage: 34%
Southampton’s Austrian manager is a bit of a wizard whose team play a frenetic style of play and are a thrill to watch. They’ve also lost 9-0 twice. Hasenhuttl is obviously a talented tactician but as with all proactive managers he needs a goalscorer to make his system work. When Danny Ings departed the summer, that win percentage began to drop.
12. David Moyes
Club: West Ham (prev. Everton, Man Utd, Sunderland)

Wins: 234
Win Percentage: 39%
The active Premier League manager with the most games and wins, David Moyes has been doing this forever and in all honesty he’s quite good at it. He’s not cut out for the elite level as he showed at Manchester United, but he can keep mid-table teams thriving all day every day.

11. Marcelo Bielsa

One of football’s greatest-ever tacticians, Marcelo Bielsa has taken a ramshackle Championship-level squad, added a few players of genuine class and made Leeds a bonafide Premier League side. The tactical dance at work every time Leeds take the field is a true work of art and that Bielsa is close to winning nearly half his games honestly beggars belief.
10. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Club: Manchester United (prev. Cardiff)

Win Percentage: 43%
Ole’s at the wheel but he still can’t find his way to winning even half his games despite a glittering array of talent at his disposal. To be fair his numbers are probably skewed by his run as Cardiff boss, but Solskjaer coming around the middle of the pack is just about right.
9. Mikel Arteta
Club: Arsenal
Games: 68
Wins: 32
Win Percentage: 47%
Arsenal’s magnificent coiffed young manager has endured some really rough spells so far as boss which makes it all the more impressive that he has won 47% of his games in charge. The potential for Arteta to take Arsenal onto greatness seems to oscillate from month-to-month, but his potential has to be taken seriously.
8. Claudio Ranieri
Club: Watford (prev. Chelsea, Leicester, Fulham)
Games: 228
Wins: 108
Win Percentage: 47%
Football’s Mister Miracle will dine out forever on that Leicester title win but what’s impressive is that even besides that one season, he’s operating at an impressive 47% win percentage. He may not be able to save Watford this season, but he’ll come close!
7. Brendan Rodgers
Club: Leicester (prev. Swansea, Liverpool)
Games: 256
Wins: 122
Win Percentage: 48%
It’s easy to laugh at Brendan Rodgers’ given the bizarre quotes he can come out with, but across three different clubs his teams have played excellent football and also won about half their games. And when you consider Rodgers’ has managed over 250 games that consistency is really impressive.
6. Rafa Benitez
Club: Everton (prev. Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle)
Games: 350
Wins: 172
Win Percentage: 49%
Another former Liverpool boss appears! Rafa Benitez has been tremendously successful without ever actually winning the Premier League. He took Liverpool close (while guiding them to European glory) and has made a habit of churning out wins. His football may not be the prettiest but you can’t argue with a 49% win rate.
5. Bruno Lage
Club: Wolves
Games: 10
Wins: 5
Win Percentage: 50%
Bruno Lago is new to the Premier League having just taken over at Wolves, but so far he’s doing a decent job having won half of his games. If he can keep this up then the midlands club could be in for a very good season indeed.
4. Jurgen Klopp
Club: Liverpool
Games: 230
Wins: 144
Win Percentage: 63%
Now the serious business begins. Jurgen Klopp is obviously a phenomenal manager and one of only four on this list to have a win percentage over 50%, but it’s way over at 63%. Klopp’s Liverpool have gone from strength to strength, winning games after games with intense efficiency and sparkling wonder. They came close to winning the 2018/19 title, did win it in 2019/20 and now they’re back to try again in 2021/22.

3. Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel only just arrived in the Premier League but he’s taken to it like a duck to water, turning Chelsea from a disorganised mess into the strongest defensive outfits in the division. Speaking of title-winning Chelsea bosses (no, not that one) Antonio Conte’s spell in charge at Stamford Bridge was phenomenal. They won 67% of their games playing a stunning brand of football in that 3-4-2-1 shape and almost every player got better. Now he’s Spurs boss and the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son will be hoping he can do for them what he did for Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.

Win Percentage: 73%
The best manager in the Premier League is also the winningest manager in the Premier League too. Pep Guardiola has won a staggering 73% of his 200 games in charge across a run that also encapsulates three Premier League titles. Only Sir Alex Ferguson has won the Premier League more times than Guardiola, and it can be argued that no one has won it in the kind of relentless style and systemic brilliance that Guardiola has done with City. Whether or not Pep can keep this hellacious win rate going through his last season and a half of his time at City isn’t for certain, but given everything we’ve seen so far would you really bet against him?
