For many Premier League footballers, a winners’ medal is the only accolade that matters when a season is over.
But the most competitive of goalscorers will often want to couple that with the Golden Boot, the ultimate recognition for their prowess in front of goal.
Since its inception in 1992, the Premier League has been blessed when it comes to goalscorers with some of Europe’s greatest forwards plying their trade in England’s top flight.
Across the 31 completed Premier League seasons to date, 26 different players have won the Golden Boot – with eight winning on multiple occasions and the award being shared in four campaigns including in 2018/19.
The question is, can you remember every player to finish as the Premier League’s top scorer? You have five minutes to do so, but don’t be too overconfident as there are a few that might trip you up.
A helpful hint: Only nine Golden Boot winners also won the Premier League in the same campaign. Good luck!
