Liverpool Squawka Score Ratings 2026/27
Liverpool are unbeaten but drawing too often. Andoni Iraola’s side go into the international break sixth on nine points, having twice thrown away leads in 2-2 draws at Newcastle and at home to Nottingham Forest, before winning 2-0 at Ipswich, drawing 0-0 with Fulham and edging Bournemouth 1-0. Below, we take a look at Liverpool’s most-used XI so far and how each player has performed, based on the Squawka Score rating system.
The Squawka Score is a metric developed to assess a player’s performance relative to other players in the same position. It is shown as a percentage, and it is worth knowing that 66% is average rather than 50% – a 70% is a good afternoon and 85% or above marks out one of the best players on the pitch. Each score is calculated from a range of per-90-minute statistics, taking in the obvious numbers such as goals and assists alongside some more obscure ones that are far more position-specific. A player’s season figure is simply the average of his match ratings.

GK: Alisson – 65% – Fourteen saves, four goals conceded and three clean sheets from five full games, which is a solid enough return. Two errors leading to shots are what hold him to the positional average; without them the goalkeeper would be rating in the low 70s.
RB: Ronald Araújo – 69% – Three starts at right-back and a robust return in the air and on the ground: 26 duels won from 39, including 18 aerials, the most of any Liverpool player. Converted from centre-back, he has defended the wide areas without fuss.
RCB: Jérémy Jacquet – 71% – A superb start from the 20-year-old. Twenty-nine duels won to only nine lost is the best ratio at the club by a distance, and he has added eight interceptions, six tackles won and 51 progressive passes out from the back. He has been the constant alongside van Dijk in a defence that has conceded four.
LCB: Virgil van Dijk – 72% – The captain has played every minute and leads Liverpool for clearances with 35 and progressive passes with 63. His duel record of 20 won to seven lost, with 15 aerials among them, is the sort of number that has defined his time at the club. No errors charged against him.
LB: Miloš Kerkez – 59% – The lowest rating in the side, and the numbers explain why: 23 duels lost, nine fouls conceded and two yellow cards. He has got forward willingly enough, but the defensive side of the left-back role has been a struggle across his five appearances.
RCM: Dominik Szoboszlai – 68% – Liverpool’s set-piece taker and their busiest creator, with 11 chances created, three of them clear-cut, 40 passes into the penalty area and 1.16 xA. He has also scored from the spot. Ten fouls is the most in the squad and the one thing keeping him from a higher figure.
LCM: Alexis Mac Allister – 68% – Three starts and the same steady control as ever, with 19 duels won, five tackles won and 61 passes into the final third. The absence of a goal or assist is what separates him from the forwards ahead of him rather than anything he has done wrong.
RW: Víctor Muñoz – 65% – Three starts for the young winger and a respectable return: four chances created, seven completed take-ons and 14 touches in the opposition box. Two shots without a goal is the number that needs to grow if he is to hold the shirt.
AM: Florian Wirtz – 69% – Twelve shots for 1.03 xG and nine chances created from the No.10 role, with 20 touches in the opposition box. One assist is a thin return for the volume of good work, and it is the finishing rather than the creating that has let this attack down.
LW: Cody Gakpo – 77% – Liverpool’s highest-rated player and the most complete performer in the side. A goal and three assists, 11 chances created, 1.35 xA and 21 touches in the opposition box, and he has still found time for seven interceptions and seven tackles won. Outstanding from the left.
ST: Alexander Isak – 74% – Four goals from 15 shots and 3.02 xG, with 23 touches in the opposition box. Three big chances missed is the only mark against a striker who has settled quickly and is comfortably Liverpool’s leading scorer.
Liverpool set-piece specialists:
- Penalties: Dominik Szoboszlai
- Free-kicks: Dominik Szoboszlai
- Corners: Dominik Szoboszlai
Szoboszlai has taken 17 of Liverpool’s corners to Alexis Mac Allister’s one, along with all six of their direct free-kicks and the only penalty, which he scored. There is no ambiguity here: the dead balls are his.
