Former Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s time at the club is over after Mikel Arteta froze him out following another disciplinary breach.
The Gabon international was stripped of his captaincy earlier this season and hasn’t appeared since a 2-1 away defeat to Everton at the start of December, missing the last eight Premier League matches.
Some of those coincided with Afcon 2021, but the 32-year-old has since returned to the club and there are now suggestions that Arsenal would be willing to let him leave this month, with a loan move touted as a possibility.

As such, it appears Aubameyang’s time in north London could be nearing its conclusion, a notion shared by former Arsenal forward Adebayor, who certainly knows what it’s like to fall out with the club’s impassioned fanbase.
“I know he’s going through a lot, because that’s Arsenal for you,” Adebayor told Sky Sports News.
“We just want him to bounce back. Whether we like it or not, he’s an African brother and we want him to keep representing Africa the way he was doing before.”
Adebayor, now 37, famously switched the Gunners for Man City in 2009 after three years at the Emirates, and was involved in one of the most iconic Premier League celebrations after he sprinted the full length of the pitch to goad Arsenal fans at the Etihad.
The former Togo international certainly knows what it’s like to have bad blood with the club’s fans, and he believes his tainted relationship with the club is somewhat similar to Aubameyang’s current situation.
When asked if there is way back for Aubameyang, Adebayor said: “I don’t think so, this is what I know because it happened to me also.
“Not in the same way but in Arsenal, a way back I would be surprised [to see]. But he’s a great player so let’s see how it ends up.”
