After their 100% start to the season ended abruptly at Old Trafford, Mikel Arteta will be hoping for a reaction from his players as they look to keep their place at the top of the Premier League table. The Gunners go into the weekend one point clear of Man City and rivals Tottenham and will be looking to keep up their impressive recent record in London derbies after winning five of their last eight away games against sides from the capital, as many as their previous 23 on the road.
Mikel Arteta’s side are currently on a 23 game run without a draw in the Premier League, winning 16 and losing seven and will be hoping it will be the former rather than the latter at the Community Stadium this weekend.
Brentford go into the game on the back of an impressive 5-2 victory over Leeds, where they definitely took the most of their chances, having scored their five goals from just eight shots on target. An even more impressive feat when you learn that the home side had just 32% possession, the second lowest share of the ball that Brentford have had in a Premier League game after Manchester City (24%).
The Bees are unbeaten at home in the Premier League this season after a record breaking 4-0 win over Manchester United, a 1-1 draw against Everton and the aforementioned 5-2 win over Jesse Marsch’s Leeds side, but this will be their toughest test so far.

Brentford vs Arsenal match stats
Aaron Hickey was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal throughout the summer, but it was Brentford who snapped up the young full-back on a four-year deal from Bologna. The Scott has settled in well to life in the Premier League has already made the right-back spot his own with some impressive performances.
He has dealt well with some tricky wingers in his last two league appearances in Wilfried Zaha and Jack Harrison, making 10 tackles in total against the pair (6 vs. Crystal Palace & 4 vs. Leeds). The right-back will need to be at his best again against Gabriel Martinelli, who has started the season with three goals in his opening six Premier League appearances.
With three goals and three assists in his first six Premier League games for Arsenal, there is no question that Gabriel Jesus has been one of the signings of the summer for the Gunners. The Brazilian has had more touches in the opposition box (66), won more more fouls (21) and attempted more take-ons (34) and more take-ons inside the box (8) than any other Premier League player so far in 2022/23 and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The former Manchester City man put in an impressive performance even in defeat to Manchester United last time out in the Premier League, winning 13 duels, eight fouls and creating five chances in a battling display up front that caused Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez a host of problems at Old Trafford.
