Who is Gilberto Mora?
Born in Tuxtla Gutierrez in October 2008, Mora is a left-footed attacking midfielder who wears the No. 10 for Liga MX side Club Tijuana. Small, technical and press-resistant, he can play centrally or drift wide, and has been fast-tracked into Mexico’s senior side despite his age.
A record-breaking teenager
Mora’s rise has been remarkable. In August 2024, aged 15, he became the youngest goalscorer in Liga MX history. In June 2025 he became the youngest player ever to make an official senior debut for Mexico, and he went on to start the final as Mexico won the 2025 Gold Cup — making him, by most accounts, the youngest player ever to win a senior international trophy.
