NHL awards odds 2027: every trophy, the 2026 winners and how the voting works

NHL awards odds are the quietest corner of the futures board and often the most readable, because these are voted markets with a consistent electorate. The 2026 NHL awards told the story cleanly. Tampa Bay took three of the eleven trophies, including the Hart and the Vezina. Montréal took two, the Selke and the Lady Byng. And Connor McDavid won the scoring title and the players’ own award without winning the writers’ MVP. The complete list of 2026 NHL awards winners. Two of the trophies are decided by the numbers rather than a vote, which matters when you bet them.

Two results stand out for bettors. McDavid won the Art Ross and the Ted Lindsay, the players’ vote, and lost the Hart to Kucherov, which tells you the writers and the players are answering different questions. And Suzuki’s Selke was not close: he was first on 151 of 198 ballots.

On the blue line Evan Bouchard leads the defencemen on 18 points, which is the number the Norris vote has historically followed.

Among goaltenders with four or more starts, Jake Oettinger has the best save percentage. The Vezina is voted by the general managers, who have historically rewarded workload alongside rate stats, and the nhl awards odds on this page reflect that bias.

The four markets with their own pages

• Hart Trophy odds. The MVP market, and the one most tied to the standings as well as the scoring race. McDavid opened favourite for 2026-27.
• Conn Smythe odds. Playoff MVP, priced only during the postseason and almost always won by a player on the champion.
• Calder Trophy odds. Rookie of the year, the most predictable of the voted awards. Porter Martone and Gavin McKenna lead the 2026-27 board.
• Norris Trophy odds. Best defenceman, where the voters have a clear type and the top scorer at the position does not always make the final three.

Vezina Trophy odds and winners

The Vezina Trophy is the one major award not voted by the writers. The 32 general managers pick it, and they behave differently: they reward workload and wins alongside save percentage, which is why the Vezina winner is usually a starter on a playoff team who played 55 or more games. Andrei Vasilevskiy won his third in 2026 with 39 wins in 58 starts, a 2.31 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage, ahead of Ilya Sorokin and Jeremy Swayman.

Two goaltenders have won six of the last eight: Hellebuyck three times and Vasilevskiy three times. The Vezina Trophy finalists are named in late April, and the market before then rewards the same patience as the skater awards. A starter whose team collapses in the second half loses the wins column and, with it, the GMs’ vote, however good the underlying numbers. Hellebuyck’s 2025 Vezina came with the Hart, only the second goaltender to take both in a decade.

Rocket Richard Trophy: goals, not votes

The Rocket Richard Trophy goes to the league’s top goalscorer, so there is no electorate to read. Nathan MacKinnon won it in 2026 with 53 goals, ahead of Cole Caufield on 51, McDavid on 48, and Macklin Celebrini, Jason Robertson and Kirill Kaprizov on 45. Rocket Richard odds behave like a season-long race market: the price follows the goals table week by week, and the value is usually in a high-volume shooter whose percentage has been low through October rather than in the early leader. Caufield’s 51 made him the highest-scoring Canadian-club player of the season and is the reason Montréal carry two live award candidates into 2026-27.

Art Ross Trophy and the Hart: when they split

The Art Ross Trophy is also statistical, awarded to the points leader. McDavid took it in 2026 with 138, eight clear of Kucherov on 130, with MacKinnon on 127 and Celebrini on 115. Two Canadian-club players finished in the top six: Mark Scheifele of Winnipeg on 103 and Nick Suzuki on 101.

The Art Ross is often bet alongside the Hart, and the correlation is real but weakening. The same player won both in 14 of the 26 seasons since 2000. In the last three seasons the two have gone to different players every time: MacKinnon and Kucherov in 2024, Hellebuyck and Kucherov in 2025, Kucherov and McDavid in 2026. Buying the Hart as a proxy for the scoring race is a worse bet than it was five years ago.

Selke, Lady Byng, Jack Adams and Ted Lindsay

• Selke Trophy. Best defensive forward, voted by the writers. Suzuki’s 2026 win, on 151 first-place votes from 198, was the most decisive of any voted award, and it came with 101 points, which is the modern Selke profile: a two-way centre who also scores.
• Lady Byng Trophy. Skill combined with sportsmanship, voted by the writers. Caufield won it as a 51-goal scorer, over Anze Kopitar and Ottawa’s Jake Sanderson. Sportsbooks rarely price this one.
• Jack Adams Award. Coach of the year, voted by the broadcasters’ association. Jon Cooper won for a Tampa Bay team that finished fifth overall, over Dan Muse of Pittsburgh and Lindy Ruff of Buffalo. It is the one award where a surprise playoff team beats a dominant one, which is why Ruff’s fourth-place Sabres were a finalist.
• Ted Lindsay Award. The players’ choice for most outstanding player, run by the NHL Players’ Association. McDavid won it over Celebrini and Kucherov. When the Lindsay and the Hart split, as they did in 2026, the players have usually backed the scoring leader and the writers the player on the better team.

How NHL award voting works

Knowing who votes is most of the edge in these markets, because each electorate has a habit.

Ballots for the regular-season awards are cast when the regular season ends, before the playoffs begin, so postseason play has no bearing on any of them except the Conn Smythe.

When are the NHL awards announced?

The league no longer stages a single gala for the player trophies. In 2026 the finalists were announced in late April, the Vezina three among them on 29 April, and the winners were then revealed one or two at a time from late May through the Stanley Cup Final, with the Hart the last of them in the second week of June. Expect the same shape in 2027: finalists in late April, winners across May and June, the Hart around the Final. For bettors that means the regular-season markets are effectively settled by mid-April, when the ballots go in, even though the payout waits for the announcement.

When the odds go up and when to bet them

Award futures go up over the summer, alongside the Cup markets, and stay open all season; the Hart, Norris and Calder boards on our trophy pages had all been posted by the end of July 2026. Pre-season prices are the widest of the year and also the least informed: across the Hart, Norris and Calder, the pre-season favourite has won three times in the last thirty tries. The sharper windows come later, around the American Thanksgiving mark when the standings have settled, and again in February when each field narrows to three or four names. Correlated positions are worth understanding before you take them. A Hart and Art Ross double on the same player has landed in 14 of 26 seasons, but three straight misses is a trend. A Norris and Calder double on the same defenceman has never landed in the same season, though Matthew Schaefer at +2000 for the Norris is the market’s nod to the possibility.
