Where you can bet on the NFL in Canada
Single-event sports betting has been legal nationwide since Bill C-218 came into force on 27 August 2021. What happened next was up to each province, and they went two very different ways. In order to find the best nfl betting sites in Canada head on over to our in depth guide.
Ontario
Ontario opened Canada’s first regulated private market in April 2022. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario licenses operators and iGaming Ontario manages the commercial framework, which now covers most of the big North American brands. Two things follow for NFL bettors. Choice: you can hold accounts at several books and shop lines on every game. And a quieter storefront: Ontario’s advertising rules bar operators from promoting bonus offers publicly, so comparison content here describes what each book does well rather than what it pays you to sign up. Alberta
Alberta became the second open market on 13 July 2026, regulated by the AGLC with the Alberta iGaming Corporation running the commercial side. The model deliberately copies Ontario, including its inducement rules, so expect the same quiet storefronts. Play Alberta, the province’s own platform, keeps operating alongside the newcomers. British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan
All three route online betting through PlayNow, the platform built by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and offered in Manitoba and Saskatchewan through their provincial partners. It carries a full NFL book: moneylines, spreads, totals, props and same-game parlays. What it lacks is competition. One operator means one price, so the discipline that replaces line shopping is bet selection. Sport Select terminals cover the retail side in the Prairies.
Quebec
Loto-Québec’s Mise-o-jeu+ is the only legal online option, with NFL coverage that has grown well beyond the old parlay-card format. The platform is French-first with full English service, and the legal age is 18.
Atlantic Canada
Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and PEI share Proline through Atlantic Lottery. NFL singles and parlays are available online at 19+.
Proline+, Sport Select and Mise-o-jeu+: the lottery route
The lottery platforms are how most Canadians outside Ontario and Alberta will legally bet on the NFL, and they price differently from the private books. Two Canadian notes. Same game parlays are heavily promoted on every platform including PlayNow, and they carry the house’s widest margins; treat them as entertainment. And not every market travels: the deep player-prop menus on Ontario books shrink considerably on the lottery platforms.
How NFL odds are priced in Canada
The private sportsbooks display American odds by default, and that is the format this site leads with. Negative numbers show what you risk to win $100: at -110, a $110 bet returns $100 in profit. Positive numbers show what $100 of risk wins you: at +150, a $100 bet returns $150. The standard point spread price is -110 on both sides, and the gap between the two -110s is the book’s margin.
The lottery platforms flip this. PlayNow, Proline+ and Mise-o-jeu+ all display decimal odds by default, where 1.91 means a $100 bet returns $191 including your stake. Same price, different clothes. If you move between platforms, check which format you are reading before you compare anything.
One piece of football-specific pricing knowledge repays learning early: the key numbers. NFL games land on a margin of exactly 3 points more often than any other, with 7 close behind, because of how field goals and touchdowns score. How the NFL is played: the short version
Skip ahead if you grew up on the game. But if your gridiron instincts come from the CFL, or from nowhere at all, the basics repay two minutes, because half the betting markets above only make sense once you know how scoring works.
An offence gets four downs to move ten yards. Make it and the count resets; fall short and the ball changes hands, which is why teams punt on fourth down rather than risk the turnover. A touchdown scores six points, followed by a kicked convert for one or a two-point conversion attempt from the two-yard line. A field goal scores three. A safety scores two. Those values are the reason 3 and 7 rule spread pricing: final margins cluster exactly where the scoring does.
CFL viewers should recalibrate a few instincts. The NFL plays four downs to the CFL’s three, 11 players a side to the CFL’s 12, on a 100-yard field to the CFL’s 110, and nothing resembling the rouge exists. Three downs make the CFL pass-happy by necessity; four downs give NFL offences a patience the Canadian game never allows.
The clock runs in four 15-minute quarters, which translates to a hair over three hours of broadcast time. If regulation ends level, regular-season games play a single overtime period and can still finish tied, which matters for bettors: markets settle with overtime included, and a tie refunds a two-way moneyline at most books. Playoff games play on until someone wins.

Why the Buffalo Bills are Canada’s NFL team
No NFL franchise sits closer to a Canadian population centre than the Bills. Highmark Stadium is roughly a two-hour drive from Toronto, close enough that game-day traffic on the QEW runs both ways, and in May 2025 the NFL formalized the relationship by granting Buffalo exclusive marketing rights to Canada under its Global Markets Program. A partnership with Toronto’s Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment followed the same year. None of this is new courtship: the franchise played regular-season home games at Rogers Centre in the Bills Toronto Series from 2008 to 2013.
For bettors this shows up in the product. Ontario books lean into Bills markets, prop menus run deeper for Buffalo games, and Bills lines attract the most one-sided Canadian action of any team. That last part cuts both ways: a market everyone in the province is on the same side of is rarely where the value sits.

Watching the NFL in Canada
Sunday afternoon games air free-to-air on CTV, primetime games on Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights run on TSN, RDS carries French-language coverage, and DAZN streams the full slate including RedZone. Kickoff times are listed in ET almost everywhere, so translate accordingly out west. Legal live betting during the broadcast is available on whichever platform your province allows, and every one of them offers it.

Futures let you bet the season rather than the week: Super Bowl winner, division winners, team win totals, and the awards markets led by MVP. Yes, everywhere in the country. Single-event betting became legal federally on 27 August 2021 under Bill C-218, and every province now offers NFL betting through either a regulated private market or its lottery platform.

In Ontario, yes: the AGCO market includes most major North American operators. Alberta’s new market is filling in through 2026, with brands arriving under AiGC licences. Outside those two provinces, US-brand sportsbooks are not licensed to take Canadian bets.
