Result: Anaheim Ducks 5-4 Vancouver Canucks
Cutter Gauthier scored three and Beckett Sennecke assisted on four. Anaheim’s power play went 3 for 3 and Leo Carlsson added a shorthanded goal. The Ducks led 5-2 early in the third. Jake DeBrusk scored twice inside four minutes to make it close, but Vancouver couldn’t find a fifth. Laurent Brossoit made 19 saves. Kevin Lankinen started for the Canucks, not Leevi Meriläinen, and stopped 17 of 22.
Right side, right total. We called Anaheim to win and the over 6.5, with the second-best power play against a kill ranked 30th. That gap decided it. Nine goals cleared the 6.5 at Bet99 and Mise-o-jeu and the 7 at TonyBet. Vancouver has lost three straight and is 3-13-1. Anaheim is 7-7-1.
The preview as published before the game follows.
Vancouver’s last win was against these Ducks, and it took two goals in 49 seconds to get there. Jonathan Lekkerimäki scored both late in the third in Anaheim a week ago, and Filip Hronek won it in overtime. The Canucks are last in the league. This is the rematch, at Rogers Arena.

Canucks vs Ducks odds
Only TonyBet had posted a Canadian price when this page was built: Vancouver +120, Anaheim −154. More prices tend to appear later in the day. When they do, they go on our NHL odds page.
Vancouver is 32nd and has conceded 72 goals
The Canucks are 3-12-1 on seven points. They lost 4-2 to Toronto at home on Saturday and are 1-8-1 in their last ten.
Seventy-two goals against is fourteen more than any other club. The penalty kill is 30th at 66.7 per cent, and Vancouver is being outshot by more than ten a game.
Leevi Meriläinen has started the last three, and is 2-5-1 with a .897 overall. Kevin Lankinen is 1-7-0 at .812. Thatcher Demko is still out after hip surgery, with no timetable, and Filip Chytil went on injured reserve on Friday.
How they compare
| 2025-26 | Anaheim Ducks | Vancouver Canucks |
|---|---|---|
| Record | 43-33-6 | 25-49-8 |
| Points | 92 | 58 |
| Goals for per game | 3.33 | 2.63 |
| Goals against per game | 3.51 | 3.85 |
| Power play | 18.6% | 21.8% |
| Penalty kill | 76.4% | 71.5% |
Last season this would have been a mismatch the other way: Anaheim finished 34 points ahead of Vancouver. The Canucks had the better power play by three points and a far worse kill, which is still true.
Anaheim has the second-best power play and a thin crease
The Ducks are 6-7-1 and 25th. They beat Ottawa 6-3 at home on Sunday, with Laurent Brossoit making his first start of the season.
Anaheim’s power play scores 34.0 per cent of the time, second in the NHL. Against Vancouver’s kill, that’s the biggest special-teams gap on the card. Beckett Sennecke has four power-play goals among his eight.
The goaltending is the problem. Lukas Dostal is 4-4-1 at .872 and Ville Husso 1-3-0 at .857. A.J. Greer, who scored twice in the first meeting, was hurt on Sunday and will miss at least four games. Troy Terry is close to a first game of the season.
Vancouver has won four of the last five

Vancouver leads the all-time series 75 wins to 66 across 141 meetings, and has taken four of the last five, two of them in overtime.
Those five produced 11, 7, 8, 2 and 9 goals, an average of 7.4. Four of the five went over 6.5. Last week’s game was 5-2 Anaheim with under eight minutes left.

Who starts in goal is an open question. Anaheim has split between Dostal (9 starts, .872) and Brossoit (1, .870), and Vancouver has split between Meriläinen (9 starts, .897) and Lankinen (7, .812). Treat both names as live options until a club confirms, which usually happens after the morning skate.
Who is missing elsewhere is tracked daily on our NHL injury report.
Players to watch
Jonathan Lekkerimäki, Vancouver. Six goals, the most on the team, and the two that forced overtime in Anaheim.
Leo Carlsson, Anaheim. Twenty-one points in fourteen games, seventeen of them assists. He scored in the first meeting too.
Beckett Sennecke, Anaheim. Eight goals, four on the power play, against a penalty kill that is 30th.
Score prediction
Anaheim Ducks 5-3 Vancouver Canucks. The second-best power play in the league against the 30th-ranked kill, and the worst goals-against record anywhere.
Canucks vs Ducks prediction
Anaheim is the side, though not with much confidence. The Ducks are 25th for a reason, and none of their three goaltenders is above .872.
Vancouver does have this matchup’s recent history. Four wins in five, and the club has scored four or more in three of them. Even so, a team allowing 4.5 goals a game is hard to back at +120.
Our lean: Anaheim on the moneyline, and the over 6.5. The series average is 7.4, both clubs concede freely, and neither crease gives us a reason to expect a low score.
Our weekly NHL power rankings has the wider view of both clubs. For the rest of Tuesday’s games, go to the NHL schedule.

Vancouver is 32nd at 3-12-1. Anaheim is 25th at 6-7-1.
