A record 28 Canadians opened the 2026 season on NFL rosters, and Week 5 puts five of their games against each other, one more than last week. Twenty-three of them play, three are on bye with Carolina, and two are unavailable.
Two Canadians now lead NFL categories
Alex Singleton leads the entire league in combined tackles with 47, twenty-two of them solo, for a Denver side that is 2-2. He was second a week ago on 33. Across four games that is close to twelve a week, and he has done it without a sack or an interception, which is the unglamorous shape of a leading tackle count.
Jevón Holland of Coquitlam shares the NFL lead in interceptions with three for the New York Giants, alongside Las Vegas cornerback Hezekiah Masses. He has added four passes defended and two forced fumbles in four games. He had one interception in fourteen games last season. The Giants are 3-1 and lead the NFC East.
The five all-Canadian games
Buffalo at the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night is the biggest of them and puts five Canadians on the field. Dalton Kincaid, Joshua Palmer and Michael Hoecht travel; Alaric Jackson and Wesley Bailey of Windsor and Ottawa are waiting.
Denver at the Los Angeles Chargers sends Singleton against Akheem Mesidor, Deane Leonard and Logan Taylor, which is four Canadians in one game and the only one where a league leader is on the field. Chicago at Green Bay pairs Theo Benedet and Neville Gallimore with Benjamin St-Juste of Montreal in a divisional game.
Baltimore at Atlanta on Sunday night puts Tavius Robinson of Guelph opposite Matthew Bergeron of Victoriaville and Sydney Brown of London. Houston at Tennessee is 0-4 against 0-4 and sends Jared Wayne of Peterborough against Elic Ayomanor of Medicine Hat, so one of the league’s winless five will have a first win by Sunday evening.
Chuba Hubbard is the best Canadian season so far, and he is on bye
Hubbard has carried 61 times for 306 yards at 5.0 a carry with three touchdowns, and added ten catches for 84 yards and two more scores. That is five touchdowns in four games and comfortably the most productive Canadian season in the league. Carolina is on bye in Week 5, so he does not play, and neither do John Metchie III or Albert Reese.
The contrast with Chase Brown is sharp. Cincinnati’s running back has 58 carries for 207 yards, which is 3.6 a carry against Hubbard’s 5.0, and nine of those carries produced ten yards in the defeat at home to Jacksonville. He has 21 catches for 103 yards. Cincinnati is 2-2 and travels to Miami.
The two with their own pages
Elic Ayomanor has five catches for 113 yards and a touchdown from ten targets in four games for a Tennessee side that is 0-4 and hosts Houston. Our full Elic Ayomanor player page carries his game-by-game log.
Theo Johnson has two catches for 20 yards and a touchdown from six targets for the Giants, well short of the 45 catches he managed last season. The Theo Johnson player page has the detail. He is at Washington on Sunday.
