What three weeks show
The target count is the number to watch, and it has been eerily flat. Three targets in Week 1, three in Week 2, three in Week 3. Nine in total, which is 3.0 a game against the 5.6 he averaged as a rookie. On this pace he would finish with about 51 targets across a 17-game season, against the 89 he saw last year. His role has not grown in year two; it has roughly halved.
What has gone up is the return on each one. He is averaging 22.8 yards a catch, against 12.6 in 2025, and his 69-yard afternoon against Philadelphia in Week 2 came on two receptions and led Tennessee in receiving yards that day. This is a big-play line rather than a volume one, which is a harder thing to rely on week to week but a more valuable one when it lands.
The catch rate says the change is not about his hands. He is holding 44.4 per cent of his targets, almost exactly the 46.1 per cent he managed as a rookie. The difference is how often the ball is sent his way. Tennessee are 0-3, bottom of our NFL power rankings, and have scored 37 points in three games, so there is not much offence to share out in the first place.
Next up: Titans at Ravens
