What three weeks show
Three touchdowns in three games, two of them through the air. He scored twice in a 59-37 defeat to Chicago and again in a 34-3 win at Atlanta, which covers both ends of how a game can go, then went without one in the 21-18 loss at Cleveland. Carolina still look for him near the goal line in both phases, and that is the useful thing here even in a week it did not produce.
The season to judge him against is 2024, not 2025. He ran for 1,195 yards and 10 touchdowns on 250 carries two years ago, then dropped to 511 yards on 134 carries last season. The carry count fell by almost half, which is the clearest signal of what changed.
His 4.5 yards per carry through three weeks is the encouraging part, comfortably above the 3.8 he managed in 2025. The volume question is answering itself in the right direction: 19 carries at Cleveland was his heaviest load of the season, and 41 in three games projects to about 232 across the year. That is within reach of the 250 he handled in 2024, which is the season this is properly measured against.
Alberta is the market to watch him in. The province opened to private operators in July 2026, so a Sherwood Park back now has his props posted by books licensed in his own province, which was not true for most of his career.
