The Thunder are still without Chet Holmgren, who had a biological treatment on a small patellar tendon tear and will miss at least eight to ten weeks, and Jalen Williams, who had surgery on a fractured left fibula. Cason Wallace (shoulder surgery) is out too. Washington is without Justin Champagnie (foot), Reece Beekman (shoulder) and Jamir Watkins, who tore an ACL. Anthony Davis has a sprained right ankle, The Athletic’s Josh Robbins reported, and sat out Friday’s 139-132 loss in Atlanta.

Score prediction

Thunder 115-106 Wizards. Both teams will be tired, so we expect the home edge to hold. Thunder by about nine.

Wizards vs Thunder prediction

The Thunder have the better net rating and turn the ball over on 11.6 per cent of possessions, third in the league. The Canadian books have Oklahoma City at about 79 per cent to win.

Washington’s case is its defence, and a team that held Charlotte to 79 points and Orlando to 94 since 29 October can make an injury-hit Oklahoma City offence, 19th by rating and 27th by effective field-goal percentage, work for everything on a tired night.

Our pick: the Thunder to win.

What would change it: if Gilgeous-Alexander sat the second night, we would switch to Washington. A Davis absence would make the Thunder a stronger pick.

Both clubs are placed in this week’s NBA power rankings. The NBA games tonight board lists Saturday’s other NBA games.
