Detroit Pistons odds

We don’t print a price for the Pistons here yet. No Canadian sportsbook feed covers the NBA for us, and an American number isn’t a fair guide to what you’ll see in your province.

Where you can bet depends on where you live. Ontario and Alberta have licensed private sportsbooks, and the rest of Canada bets through its provincial lottery platform. Our NBA betting hub explains each province, and the list below is matched to where you are.

Detroit Pistons history

The club began as a company team backed by Fred Zollner’s Zollner Corporation in Fort Wayne, Indiana. As the Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons it joined the National Basketball League in 1941 and won NBL titles in 1944 and 1945. It joined the BAA in 1948, a year before the merger that formed the NBA. The team moved to Detroit for the 1957-58 season.

Dave Bing joined in 1966 and Bob Lanier in 1970. Isiah Thomas arrived as the second pick in 1981. Under coach Chuck Daly, the Bad Boys swept the Lakers in the 1989 Finals and beat Portland 4-1 a year later. Joe Dumars was Finals MVP in 1989, Thomas in 1990.

Larry Brown coached the 2004 team that beat the Lakers 4-1, and Chauncey Billups was Finals MVP. Tom Gores bought the club in 2011. In 2017 it left the Palace of Auburn Hills for Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit. The low point was 2023-24, when Detroit lost 28 straight games and finished 14-68. Two seasons later it won 60 games and the East’s top seed.

Most famous player: Isiah Thomas

Isiah Thomas holds the Pistons records for points, with 18,822, and for assists and steals. Detroit drafted him second overall in 1981 and he played 13 seasons there. He was Finals MVP in 1990, and his No. 11 was retired on 17 February 1996.

Cade Cunningham, the first pick in 2021, leads the current team. He was an All-Star in 2025 and 2026, and he made the All-NBA First Team in 2025-26.
