NHL Picks Today: Tonight’s Games, Our Side and the Running Record

Our NHL picks today are collected here every morning. One line per game we have previewed on tonight’s slate, with the side we lean to, the total we like and a link to the full write-up. The page rebuilds daily. For the weekly column with longer reasoning, see our NHL predictions page.

Our record this season is 27-13 on the winner across 40 graded picks. That figure counts the side only. Several of those calls were right on the winner and wrong about how the game would go, and the section below says which.

How our picks have done

Every NHL pick we publish is graded on the page it was made on once the game finishes, including the ones we got wrong. The table below is the most recent 8.

Where a call was right on the winner but wrong about the shape of the game, it counts as a win here. The preview itself says what we got wrong. We would rather publish that than a record with the misses quietly removed.

How we make these picks

Each of our NHL picks starts from the same preview work. Current form, the head-to-head, rest and schedule. Who is unavailable, and who is likely in net. Goaltending moves a hockey line more than anything else. That is why our projected NHL starting goalies page feeds into the call, and why a confirmed starter can change it.

We preview every game involving a Canadian club. On a busy night this page covers about half the slate rather than all of it. That is deliberate. A short list we have actually worked through is worth more than sixteen lines of filler. Where the rest of the league sits is on our NHL power rankings. Tonight’s full schedule is on the NHL schedule page.

One thing we do not do is dress the model up as a tipster. The Squawka NHL Rating orders the 32 clubs on the power rankings page and it is good at that. It is not a betting model, it has never been presented as one, and no pick here is generated from it.

How many NHL picks are on this page today?

4 on 29 October 2026.

What is your NHL picks record this season?

27-13 on the winner from 40 graded picks. The record counts the side only, and every pick is graded on its own page once the game finishes.

Do you cover every NHL game?

No. We preview every game involving one of the seven Canadian clubs, which on a busy night is about half the slate. Every game is on our NHL schedule page.

How often does this page update?

Every morning, Eastern time, before the first puck drop, so the NHL picks today are current for that night’s slate.

What is the difference between this page and your NHL predictions page?

This one collects tonight’s picks and rebuilds daily. The predictions page runs a weekly column with longer reasoning on a Saturday slate.
