Connecticut Online Casinos 2026: The 2 Legal CT Casino Sites Compared

Connecticut has two legal online casinos: DraftKings Casino, licensed through the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation (Foxwoods), and Mohegan Sun Online Casino, run by FanDuel for the Mohegan Tribe. State law allows each tribe one online casino. You must be 21+ and physically in Connecticut.

The Mohegan side took 53.6% of the $67.03 million the two casinos won from players in September 2026, by our arithmetic from Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) data. Sweepstakes casinos have been banned since October 1, 2025.

My pick for most new players is Mohegan Sun, because its spin winnings carry no wagering requirement. DraftKings suits players who want what Foxwoods calls the state’s largest game selection and a $5 entry.

Two online casinos hold Connecticut licenses: Mohegan Sun Online Casino, operated by FanDuel’s Betfair Interactive US LLC for the Mohegan Tribe, and DraftKings Casino, which DraftKings runs for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, owner of Foxwoods Resort Casino. DCP, the state regulator, reminded players in May 2025 that there are “only two licensed online casinos in Connecticut”.

Mohegan Sun’s Connecticut site, Foxwoods’ DraftKings page and App Store listings, read November 6, 2026. Win shares are our arithmetic from DCP’s online casino dataset (updated October 15, 2026).

DCP’s revenue data names licensees, not brands. We grouped its four lines by tribe, and the brand pairing follows those tribes: DCP’s knowledge base says DraftKings and FanDuel offer online casino gaming “through their affiliation with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and the Mohegan Tribe, respectively” (DCP).

Mohegan Sun Online Casino (Run by FanDuel)

Mohegan Sun Online Casino is the Mohegan Tribe’s online casino, and FanDuel runs it. The site, ct.mohegansuncasino.com, says Betfair Interactive US LLC holds Connecticut license OGO.000002, the app is listed as “Mohegan Sun CT Online Casino” with FanDuel Limited as the seller, and Mohegan Sun sends account questions to FanDuel’s support team. Many sites call this product FanDuel Casino, but FanDuel’s own casino app says it offers real-money games “in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Virginia”. In Connecticut, you download the Mohegan Sun app instead.

Its welcome offer adds three parts: 500 Bonus Spins on Huff N’ Puff slots, up to $1,000 back in Casino Bonus on a first-day net loss, and up to 500 Momentum Dollars. You need a $10 minimum deposit and no promo code. Full terms and the math are in the bonus section below.

Momentum is Mohegan Sun’s resort rewards program. Link it to your online account and eligible online play earns Momentum Dollars and Status Points, and one Momentum Dollar equals $1 toward dining, hotel stays, the spa, golf, shows or shopping at Mohegan Sun. Mohegan’s FAQ says “Debit and Direct Payments can be used to make payments in the app”. PayNearMe and Cash at Counter deposits also exist, but they don’t qualify for the welcome offer.

The game lobby has hundreds of slots (Buffalo, Cash Eruption and Huff N’ Puff among them), blackjack, roulette, baccarat, craps, video poker and live dealer tables. The iOS app rates 4.80 from 25,780 ratings, and the Android app 4.57 from 9,606. We couldn’t verify payout times: the App Store text promises “Lightning fast payouts” but gives no hours.

DraftKings Casino (Foxwoods and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation)

DraftKings Casino is the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s online casino skin, and its App Store listing gives Connecticut license OGO.000003. Foxwoods’ page advertises “Play $5 and Get 1000 Spins”, “including 100 Lightning Link Spins”, through November 22. DraftKings’ own Connecticut pages returned access-denied errors to every tool we used, so we couldn’t read its full terms. The Foxwoods page itself points readers to “draftkings.com/sportsbook for full terms and conditions”, a sportsbook address for a casino offer.

That gap matters. DraftKings’ national App Store listing says “All bonus rewards are subject to play-through requirements, maximum wagering limits, and expiration restrictions”, but it doesn’t give the Connecticut numbers, and we won’t guess the spin value or playthrough. Read the offer terms in the app before you deposit.

Foxwoods says DraftKings has “over 300+ casino games, the largest selection of casino games in Connecticut”, including exclusive jackpots and DraftKings originals such as DraftKings Rocket, DraftKings Golf Blackjack, Hop it and Profit and Boardwalk Blackjack, plus live dealer blackjack, poker, roulette and baccarat. The national app advertises “over 1000+ real money games”, so expect the Connecticut lobby to be smaller than the app store copy suggests. We found no Connecticut-only DraftKings casino app: the national DraftKings Casino app rates 4.69 on iOS (113,114 ratings) and 4.64 on Android (43,057). Payment methods, payout times and loyalty rewards for Connecticut weren’t verifiable.

Live dealer games came to both casinos through Evolution’s studio in Fairfield: the Governor’s office announced in July 2022 that it would supply the FanDuel and DraftKings platforms, with a full launch set for July 18, 2022.

Mohegan Sun or DraftKings: Which One I’d Pick

I’d start with Mohegan Sun Online Casino. Its offer is the one I can value from the published terms: spin winnings carry no wagering requirement, the spins arrive in fixed daily batches, and the lossback is capped at a clear $1,000. If you visit Mohegan Sun in person, the Momentum link adds value you can spend on the property.

I’d pick DraftKings if the game library matters more to you than the offer. Foxwoods calls it the largest selection in the state, it has exclusives you won’t find at Mohegan Sun, and its entry is $5 rather than $10. Just treat its 1,000 spins as unpriced until you’ve read the Connecticut terms in the app, because we couldn’t. That’s my view from the terms on this page, not from play sessions.

Connecticut Online Casino Bonuses and Promo Codes

Neither offer, as published, lists a promo code: Mohegan Sun gives 500 Bonus Spins and up to $1,000 back on a first-day net loss for a $10 deposit, and DraftKings, as Foxwoods advertises it, gives 1,000 spins for $5 of play. We checked Mohegan Sun’s Connecticut offer page and Foxwoods’ DraftKings page on November 6, 2026.

What the Mohegan Sun Offer Is Really Worth

The Mohegan Sun offer’s own headline reads: “Join the 1k Club and get 500 Bonus Spins on the Huff N’ Puff family of games, plus up to 500 Momentum Dollars when you link your Momentum account. Also get up to a $1,000 bonus back on any first-day net loss!” Each part has its own rules.

  • Bonus Spins. They arrive 50 a day through your first 10 days, on eight titles: Huff N’ Puff High Rise, Money Man$ion, Even More Puff, More Puff, Lots of Puff, Even More Puff Grand, Lots of Goals and Even More Puff Hard Hat Edition. You play each spin once and keep the winnings, because the terms list the wagering requirement as N/A. Once you use a spin from a day’s batch on one game, the other 49 spins in that batch stay on that game. The terms we read don’t state a value per spin, so we don’t put a dollar figure on the 500.
  • Each day’s batch expires 7 days after it lands, so missing a week costs spins. The first batch can take up to 72 hours after your qualifying deposit to land. Counting from that day, playing your spins on day 7 and again on day 14 uses all 10 batches before they expire, by our count, since the last batch arrives on day 10 and expires a week later.
  • Lossback. The 24-hour window opens with your first real-money wager, not with your deposit. If you’re down after it, Mohegan Sun credits your net loss, up to $1,000, as non-withdrawable Casino Bonus within 72 hours. Lose $200 and you get $200 of site credit, not $200 of cash, and the credit expires 7 days after it arrives. Bonus Spins are used before your deposited funds. The terms say Bonus Spin winnings are immediately withdrawable but don’t separately say how winnings from the lossback credit are treated.
  • Momentum Dollars. The amount follows your Momentum tier: 500 for Soar and above, 250 for Ascend, 100 for Leap, 50 for Ignite and 25 for Core. You have to link your account within 30 days of your first deposit, and the terms say showing the confirmation email at the Players Club booth at Mohegan Sun gets you a second, matching set.

The offer is for new players only, and the two descriptions of who counts don’t match. The offer page excludes anyone who has already wagered on Mohegan Sun Casino, while the App Store listing says you “Must not have previously placed any wager on Mohegan Sun Online Casino or FanDuel Casino”. If you’ve played FanDuel Casino in another state, ask support before you rely on the offer. The terms also say anyone the sponsor hasn’t directly invited isn’t eligible, so check the offer shows in your account before you deposit.

No-Deposit Bonuses in Connecticut

There aren’t any: neither Mohegan Sun’s nor Foxwoods’ pages showed a no-deposit bonus on November 6, 2026. Because only these two casinos hold licenses, a “no-deposit code” advertised to Connecticut players by any other casino comes from a site Connecticut doesn’t license.

Why Connecticut Has Only Two Online Casinos (and No New Ones)

State law caps the market at two. Public Act 21-23 gives each tribe a master wagering license, and section 3 says “each master wagering license shall permit the licensee to operate one skin for online sports wagering within the state, operate one skin for online casino gaming within the state and operate fantasy contests within the state”. A skin is a branded casino site or app, so each tribe gets one, and the Connecticut Lottery Corporation’s license includes none.

So no new online casino can launch in Connecticut without a change to the statute. A tribe could change the operator behind its skin, but the count would stay at two. That’s our reading of section 3, and it’s why Connecticut has far fewer brands than the states on our US online casinos hub.

The Lottery’s master license (section 4) covers retail sports betting at up to 15 facilities, one online sportsbook, fantasy contests, keno and online draw-game sales. Its online sportsbook switched from Rush Street Interactive’s PlaySugarHouse to Fanatics, which the Lottery announced on December 5, 2023 (our Connecticut sports betting explainer has the details). DCP lists three other license types: online gaming operator, online gaming service provider and retail sports wagering.

Online poker is in the same law but not on the market. DCP says “Online poker was authorized by Public Act 21-23 but no operators are licensed in Connecticut.” (DCP).

Yes: Connecticut legalized online casinos, online sports betting, fantasy contests, online keno and online lottery sales in Public Act 21-23 (HB 6451), which Governor Ned Lamont signed on May 27, 2021. DCP’s Gaming Division regulates all legal gambling in the state.

The tribes needed federal approval first. The Mashantucket Pequot amendment and memorandum of understanding were approved on September 10, 2021 (86 FR 53340), and the Mohegan compact amendment took effect on September 15, 2021 (86 FR 51369). A seven-day soft launch began on October 12, 2021, and the full launch followed at 6:00 a.m. on October 19, 2021. “More than 130 games have been approved” at launch, the Governor’s office said.

Section 14(a)(1) sets two conditions for an online casino wager: the player “has attained the age of twenty-one, and (B) is physically present in the state when placing the wager”. The statute doesn’t require residency, and Mohegan Sun’s FAQ agrees: “While you don’t need to be a resident of Connecticut, you do have to be physically located within the state while playing”. Both apps check your location, so a visitor from New York or Massachusetts can play while inside Connecticut, and nobody can play from outside it.

Section 40 of the act changed the gambling statute so that licensed online casino play “shall not be considered gambling”. On our reading, play at an unlicensed online casino still falls under C.G.S. 53-278b(a), which says anyone who “engages in gambling” is “guilty of a class B misdemeanor”, with an exemption for games between people that are incidental to a bona fide social relationship. That wording reaches players, not just operators. DCP’s public warnings target offshore operators, and the releases we read name no player prosecutions. This isn’t legal advice.

DCP’s warning about offshore sites says they “are not licensed to accept wagers within the state of Connecticut” and that “there is no guarantee that consumers who place wagers on these platforms will receive their winnings”. You can report one to [email protected].

The tribes also run small on-reservation online casino lines, which DCP reports separately. In September 2026 they won about $152,000 of the $67.03 million total.

Sports Betting, Lottery and Fantasy

Online sports betting is 21+ through three apps: DraftKings, FanDuel and the Lottery’s Fanatics Sportsbook. The Lottery’s own site says you “Must be 18 or older for lottery and 21 or older for sports betting”, and the law sets 18 for fantasy contests and Lottery keno. DCP’s December 2025 release names the three as DraftKings (Foxwoods), FanDuel (Mohegan Sun) and Fanatics (Connecticut Lottery).

Prediction Markets

DCP treats sports event contracts as unlicensed sports wagering. DCP ordered Kalshi, Robinhood and Crypto.com to stop offering them on December 3, 2025, and local news reported on September 10, 2026 that DCP had ordered nine prediction market companies to stop offering sports bets. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) sued Connecticut on March 31, 2026, according to NBC Connecticut.

In court, Judge Vernon D. Oliver of the federal court in Connecticut denied Kalshi a preliminary injunction on August 10, 2026, and the Second Circuit denied Kalshi and Coinbase an injunction pending appeal on November 3, 2026, according to trade press. Our Connecticut prediction markets page follows the cases.

No: since October 1, 2025, Connecticut law has barred anyone without a state gaming license from running or promoting a sweepstakes that offers real or simulated online casino games. Public Act 25-112 (SB 1235) passed the Senate 36-0 and the House 146-0, and the Governor approved it on June 24, 2025.

It rewrote C.G.S. 42-301. Subsection (a) now says “No person shall conduct or promote a sweepstakes” that “allows or facilitates participation in any real or simulated online casino gaming or sports wagering, unless such person is licensed under chapter 229b”. Chapter 229b is the state’s online gaming licensing law, under which the tribes, the Lottery, their operators and suppliers are licensed, and DCP says there are only two licensed online casinos in Connecticut.

The penalty is the one for professional gambling: C.G.S. 53-278b(b) says “Any person who engages in professional gambling shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor”. Some reports call it a felony, but the enacted text says misdemeanor. A violation is also “deemed an unfair or deceptive trade practice” under the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA), and simulated gambling devices can be seized.

The word “promote” reaches past the casinos. On our reading, it covers anyone who markets a covered sweepstakes, affiliates included, though we found no case or DCP guidance applying it to affiliates. That’s why this page lists no sweepstakes casino for Connecticut readers. Some brands’ terms don’t list Connecticut as excluded, but terms don’t override the statute. Our sweepstakes legal states guide lists Connecticut among the states that ban them by law. This isn’t legal advice.

DCP’s settlement release described High5Casino’s conduct as “the unfair marketing of an unlicensed sweepstakes casino”. Before the ban, VGW, which runs Chumba Casino and LuckyLand Slots, received a DCP cease-and-desist letter dated February 2024 and had stopped taking Connecticut purchases by early October 2024, according to trade press reports, one of which says a DCP spokesperson confirmed the stop.

Free social casino apps that pay no cash prizes are a different product. On our reading, a game with no prize to win isn’t a sweepstakes under section 42-301, but that’s our reading of the statute, not legal advice. Our sweepstakes casino hub explains the Gold Coin and Sweeps Coin model used in other states. In Connecticut, the statute above applies to it.

Connecticut Online Casino Revenue and Market Share

Connecticut’s two online casinos won $67.03 million from players in September 2026, up 6.1% on September 2025, and paid the state $10.26 million in tax, according to DCP’s online casino dataset. The Mohegan side took 53.6% of the win.

The lead has changed hands. The Mashantucket side won more over the five years since launch, but the Mohegan side led fiscal 2026, and its September 2026 win was up 16.2% on a year earlier while the Mashantucket side’s was down 3.6%. Calendar 2025 was almost a tie. The best month so far was March 2026, when the two casinos won $70.26 million and paid $10.75 million in tax.

“Win” is what players lost: wagers minus winnings and canceled wagers. Gross gaming revenue is win minus a promotional deduction for bonus credits played, which Public Act 21-23 caps at 15% of win after the second year, according to DCP’s dataset notes. In September 2026 the deduction hit that limit at 15.0%. DCP also publishes the monthly sports betting figures.

Online Casino Tax in Connecticut

Connecticut’s online casinos pay 20% of gross gaming revenue from October 2026, up from 18% in their first five years, and Connecticut residents owe state income tax on their winnings with no deduction for losses.

Section 17 of Public Act 21-23 sets “Eighteen per cent of the gross gaming revenue from online casino gaming” for the five years after the first license, then 20%. DCP’s dataset note says: “Payment rate is 18% of Gross Gaming Revenue until September 2026”, with 20% for every later month. So September 2026 was the last month at 18%, and October 2026 revenue, due to the state by November 15, is the first at 20%. Sports betting pays 13.75%, and each tribe’s master licensee also pays $500,000 a year to problem gambling programs.

For players, the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) says Connecticut residents’ gambling winnings are taxable to the extent they’re in federal adjusted gross income, at 2024 and later rates of 2% to 6.99% for single filers. DRS also says “Gambling losses are not deductible for Connecticut” income tax purposes. Two bills to allow a deduction, HB 5551 in 2025 and SB 183 in 2026, were referred to the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee and went no further.

The same DRS publication, issued in 2011, says nonresidents don’t owe Connecticut income tax on gambling winnings other than state lottery winnings, and that Connecticut tax is withheld only when the payer does business in Connecticut, the payment is subject to federal withholding and it goes to a resident. We couldn’t confirm whether either casino withholds Connecticut tax on a big win, so check the W-2G you receive.

Federal rules tighten in 2026. The IRS taxes all gambling winnings, and from tax year 2026 the loss deduction is capped at an amount “equal to 90 percent of the amount of such losses” (26 U.S.C. 165(d)), and only up to your winnings. A Connecticut resident who wins $10,000 and loses $10,000 in 2026 could deduct $9,000 federally if itemizing, and nothing on the state return, by our reading of both rules.

Connecticut Casino Apps

Connecticut has two real-money casino apps: Mohegan Sun CT Online Casino, sold by FanDuel Limited, and DraftKings Casino, DraftKings’ national app. Section 14(b) requires both to confirm you’re in Connecticut, Mohegan Sun’s FAQ says location permissions must be on, and Mohegan Sun also runs a desktop site at ct.mohegansuncasino.com.

Responsible Gambling in Connecticut

Call the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling helpline at 1-888-789-7777, 24 hours a day, which DCP lists on its problem gambling page. DCP also lists the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services’ Problem Gambling Services at 860-344-2244 and the national helpline, 1-800-GAMBLER.

Connecticut’s self-exclusion list excludes you from legalized gaming in the state. You sign up online at ct.gov/selfexclusion for 1 year, 5 years or life, and DCP answers questions at [email protected]. Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun also take their own on-site exclusion applications, linked from the same DCP page. While listed, you are “prohibited from collecting any winnings, recovering any losses or accepting complimentary gifts or services” from a licensee. Choose carefully: “If you select the lifetime option for self-exclusion, you will not be able to remove yourself from the list.”

Both casinos must offer the tools in section 14(c) of Public Act 21-23: one account per platform, one debit card or one credit card per account, deposit and daily spending limits you set, and a toll-free problem gambling number. Public Act 26-53 added a toll-free customer service line for platform problems and limits on gaming ads at college sports venues and on college sites, both from July 1, 2026. Connecticut Online Casino FAQs

What is the gambling age in Connecticut?

It is 21 for online casinos and sports betting, under Public Act 21-23, and 18 for the Lottery, keno and fantasy contests. Mohegan Sun says guests must be 21 to game at its resort, and its online casino checks your age and identity before you can play. The same 21 rule applies to DraftKings Casino in Connecticut.

How many casinos are in Connecticut?

Two land-based casinos, both tribal: Foxwoods Resort Casino, opened by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe in 1992, and Mohegan Sun, opened by the Mohegan Tribe four years later. The same two tribes hold the only online casino licenses, with DraftKings and FanDuel running the sites. DCP says each casino may offer any game of chance that is legal under state law.

Can I have accounts at both Connecticut online casinos?

Yes, on our reading. The law limits you to one account on each casino’s platform, so you can hold one at Mohegan Sun Online Casino and one at DraftKings Casino. Each welcome offer is for that casino’s new players only, and Mohegan Sun’s app listing also excludes anyone who has wagered on FanDuel Casino.
