• Spain 3-0 Austria (Round of 32, July 2): Anchored midfield for the full 90 minutes with a team-high 108 on-ball involvements and 92% passing (85 of 92, including five accurate long balls), adding three tackles won, two interceptions and seven duels won as Spain won 3-0 to reach the last 16.
• Portugal 0-1 Spain (Round of 16, July 6): Anchored midfield for the full 90 minutes (94% passing) as Spain kept another clean sheet and won 1-0 to reach the quarter-finals.
• Spain 2-1 Belgium (quarter-final, July 10): Anchored midfield across the full 90 minutes as Spain came from behind to win 2-1 and reach the semi-finals.
• France 0-2 Spain (semi-final, July 14): Anchored midfield across the full 90 minutes as Spain beat France 2-0 to reach the final.
• Spain 1-0 Argentina (final, July 19): Anchored midfield for 99 minutes before making way in extra time as Spain won the World Cup.
