Where the USA play

The host nation has a friendly map. The United States play two of their three group games at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, where they opened with a 4-1 win over Paraguay and where they later meet Turkiye, with the other group game at Lumen Field in Seattle against Australia. See how the opener went in our USA vs Paraguay player ratings, and check the full squad in our USMNT roster guide. If the U.S. go deep, the showpiece venues on the East Coast come into play.

The final and the biggest venues

The showpiece grounds are in the United States. MetLife Stadium in New York and New Jersey hosts the final on July 19, 2026, while AT&T Stadium in Dallas is the largest venue of all at around 94,000. Big-capacity homes like SoFi in Los Angeles, Mercedes-Benz in Atlanta and Levi’s in the San Francisco Bay Area are built for the later knockout rounds.

Estadio Azteca: the historic one

No venue carries more history than Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, which staged the opening match on June 11 between Mexico and South Africa. In 2026, the Azteca becomes the first stadium ever to host matches at three different World Cups, after 1970 and 1986, the tournaments of Pele and Diego Maradona.
