Maple Leafs vs Kraken odds
No Canadian book had this one priced when the page went up. Hockey lines tend to land the night before or on the morning of the game, and the NHL odds page carries them as they arrive.
Seattle is eleventh and the home form is carrying them
The Kraken are 7-4-1 and eleventh, a point behind Toronto with two games in hand. They lost 5-1 at home to Minnesota on Saturday, which ended a run of two straight wins at Climate Pledge Arena.
The split between home and road is the thing to know. At home they beat Utah 5-3 and Detroit 4-3 past regulation before Minnesota. On the road they were beaten 8-3 in Florida and lost in extra time in Tampa. This is the right venue for them.
Philipp Grubauer has the better of the crease at 4-1-1 and a .907, against Joey Daccord’s 3-3-0 and .882. Four players are out and the one that matters is Jared McCann, who is gone until 2 January.
How they compare
| 2025-26 | Toronto Maple Leafs | Seattle Kraken |
|---|---|---|
| Record | 32-36-14 | 34-37-11 |
| Points | 78 | 79 |
| Goals for per game | 3.09 | 2.76 |
| Goals against per game | 3.65 | 3.21 |
| Power play | 21.3% | 19.5% |
| Penalty kill | 81.2% | 72.2% |
Seattle finished a point ahead of Toronto last season and conceded almost half a goal a game less. The gap the other way is the penalty kill: 72.2 per cent against 81.2, the weakest of any club in this week’s set, and Toronto took a 21.3 per cent power play into the season.
Toronto is eighth with eleven out and a long trip to finish
The Leafs are 7-5-2 and eighth on 16 points, with 52 goals for and 46 against. A four-game winning run ended 5-2 at Calgary on Monday. Across those five games it was the only one in which they conceded more than four.
Eleven players are out, the longest list in the league. John Tavares is gone until 27 November and Max Domi until 21 November. Nick Blankenburg is out to 12 November, Dakota Joshua to 8 November, and Chris Tanev has been on injured reserve since 25 October. Kirill Marchenko carries a return date of today.
The goaltending is shared. Anthony Stolarz has the better of it at 4-1-0 and a .907, against Sergei Bobrovsky’s 3-4-2 and .897. Stolarz stopped 30 of 32 in Edmonton on Saturday.
Toronto leads the series 7-2-1 but Seattle has the last two

| 31 Oct 2024 | Toronto 4-1 | Toronto |

Toronto leads the all-time series 7 wins to 3, but there have only been ten meetings. Seattle joined the league in 2021. They have taken the last two, including 5-2 at home in January.
Those five produced 7, 7, 4, 5 and 4 goals, an average of 5.4. The two Seattle won are the two that cleared 6.5. Both clubs are scoring better than 3.7 a game this season. The low totals in that run belong to older rosters.

Who starts in goal is an open question. Toronto Maple Leafs has split between Stolarz (5 starts, .907) and Bobrovsky (9, .897), and Seattle Kraken has split between Grubauer (6 starts, .907) and Daccord (6, .882). A save percentage is a season aggregate rather than a lineup, so treat either name as a possibility and not a plan.

Players to watch
Philipp Grubauer, Seattle. A .907 across six starts and a 4-1-1 record, which is the best thing Seattle has going into this.
Anthony Stolarz, Toronto. The identical .907, and 30 saves from 32 the last time he played.
Auston Matthews, Toronto. Twenty points and sixth in the NHL scoring race, with Tavares and Domi both out around him.
Score prediction
Seattle Kraken 4-3 Toronto Maple Leafs. Seattle has won the last two meetings and Toronto is on the third game of a four-game western trip.
Maple Leafs vs Kraken prediction
Seattle is the narrow side. They are at home, where they have taken four of their last six points, they have won both recent meetings, and Toronto is missing eleven.
The case for Toronto is the table and the form. It is the better side on points and put seven past Edmonton four days ago. The crease will not settle it either way: Stolarz and Grubauer are both on a .907. Our lean: Seattle, and the over if the total sits at 6 or lower. The last two meetings both finished on seven goals. Both clubs are scoring better than 3.7 a game, and Seattle carried the weakest penalty kill on this week’s card into the season.
Our NHL power rankings has all 32 in order, and the rest of Wednesday’s games is on the NHL schedule.
