In 2025, Messi and Jordi Alba skipped the All-Star Game in Austin without league approval and were ruled out of Inter Miami’s next match as a result. This time the circumstances are different: the absence falls under the mandatory post-tournament rest framework, and MLS confirmed on July 25 that Messi and De Paul would be excused. There is no sanction.
When will Messi return for Inter Miami?
