A dead-even Leagues Cup opener at Subaru Park where Philadelphia Union’s home advantage might be the only edge in a market priced at 50/50.
The prediction market sees this as a pure coin-flip — Philadelphia Union and Necaxa are each priced at 50% to win. With no draws allowed in Phase One, the tie heads straight to penalties if level after 90 minutes, making this one of the trickiest results to call across Philadelphia Union’s three-game group stage. Home soil and crowd support could tip the balance. Kickoff at Subaru Park is set for 7:30 PM ET / 6:30 PM CT / 4:30 PM PT on Sunday, August 9.

How Leagues Cup Phase One works
Every club in the Leagues Cup plays three cross-league games, MLS against Liga MX. There are no draws. If the score is level after 90 minutes, the game goes straight to a penalty shootout, and the winner banks two points while the loser takes one. The top four MLS teams and the top four Liga MX teams then advance to the knockout rounds.
