This closes a four-match block that has told Korea more about their problems than their strengths. Ecuador were beaten 3-0 in September, then Uruguay won 4-1 in Seoul, and Venezuela held them to a goalless draw on Friday. One win, one draw, one heavy defeat, and a front line that managed nothing at all last time out.
Robert Moreno is in interim charge and Tuesday is his last game of the series, which gives it a slightly different weight — a final look at players, and a final chance to finish on a result.
Uzbekistan arrive in the better form of the two. Fabio Cannavaro has them beating Iran 3-1 and Syria 4-1 in the past fortnight, seven goals in two games, though they have not kept a clean sheet in seven matches. Both of these sides can score. Neither has convinced at the back.
Team news and talking points
Kim Min-jae missed two consecutive training sessions in the build-up and is reported unlikely to feature, which matters more than most absences for a side whose defensive record is the live question. Moreno has rotated through the series and will again. Uzbekistan are without a clean sheet in seven but have been the more coherent attacking team of the two over the past month.
