Argentina vs Burkina Faso: Best Bets & Predictions
Argentina are far too short to back outright. The interest is in how convincingly they win it, not whether they do.
Our approach: skip the -550 and take the margin instead — the clean sheet, the goals, and the scoreline that delivers both.

Argentina vs Burkina Faso: what’s at stake?
This is the first of two at the Monumental inside four days, and it is comfortably the less important one. Tuesday against Benin is Lionel Messi’s last match for Argentina, the end of a career that closes on 208 caps and 125 goals, and he is joining the squad for that game rather than this one.
Which leaves Saturday as something closer to an open trial. Argentina lost the World Cup final to Spain in July, 1-0 after extra time, and the squad that follows is going to look different — this is the first look at how different.
Burkina Faso are a serious enough opponent to make the exercise worthwhile. They are regulars at the Africa Cup of Nations and travel with a settled side, but they are 16-to-1 outsiders here for a reason, and the gap in depth between a World Cup finalist and an AFCON regular is the whole of this market.
Team news and talking points
Messi is the headline absence and a deliberate one — he is being saved for Tuesday, when the Monumental will be given over to a farewell rather than a fixture. Beyond him, expect a heavily changed side: this is the game in the window where caps get handed out. Burkina Faso arrive off a long trip with a squad built around their European-based core. Tuesday’s farewell, and the rest of the window, is in our international coverage.
Argentina vs Burkina Faso prediction
A rotated Argentina at the Monumental against a side ranked well below them, with a farewell three days away that half the squad is auditioning for. That is a recipe for a comfortable win and a few goals rather than a careful one. Burkina Faso will defend deep and will likely do it reasonably well for a while. Prediction: Argentina 3-0.
