Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves prediction and picks

Anthony Edwards scored 47 in Cleveland on Monday. He now needs arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and is expected to miss up to two months, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. So Minnesota starts that stretch tonight, against a Golden State team coming off its best result of the season.

The Warriors won 134-114 in Denver on Monday, with Stephen Curry 8-of-8 from the floor. This Warriors vs Timberwolves game is also Jonathan Kuminga against the club that drafted him.

Players to watch

Stephen Curry, Golden State. Twenty-three or more in every game he has played, and perfect from the floor in his last one.

LaMelo Ball, Minnesota. The obvious choice to take Edwards’ shots. He scored 21 on opening night, his best so far.

Score prediction

Timberwolves 112-110 Warriors. With Edwards, last season’s ratings would make Minnesota about a five-point favourite. Without him we take most of that away, and leave home court.

Warriors vs Timberwolves prediction

Minnesota still has the better defence and Gobert. Golden State has Curry, and a Timberwolves attack that has just lost a 45-point scorer.

Our pick: Minnesota to win narrowly, so Golden State with the points at +3.5 or more, and the under if the total sits at 227.5 or higher.

Our player prop is Stephen Curry under 24.5 points. He has scored 23, 24 and 24. Lines ran from 24.5 to 25.5 on Covers’ NBA prop board at 6:55 a.m. ET, so if you can find the under at 25.5, that extra point is worth having on a player who has landed within two points of this number three times running.

If you’re following the rest of Wednesday’s games, our NBA games tonight board has them in one place.
