Juventus sign defender Cristian Romero according to Genoa president
It appears Genoa defender Cristian Romero’s move to Juventus this summer has been confirmed by club president Enrico Preziosi.
The talented Argentine will move to the Serie A champions at the end of the current season for a reported transfer fee of €30 million.

- Key stat: Romero played both matches against Juventus this season, in which Genoa have gone undefeated (drawing 1-1 in Turin and winning 2-0 at home).
The defender has been linked with the Italian giants across the past few months and it seems the move has finally been finalised, as Genoa president Preziosi has told reporters that he expects negotiations to conclude with Romero leaving his employment.
Romero has impressed in his 24 league outings so far this season and has seemingly convinced Juventus to take a chance on the centre-back, following former teammate Krzysztof Piatek – who joined AC Milan in January – out the door.
Addressing reports of a £26m deal, Prezioso said: “You all know that there is a negotiation in progress – [Romero] will go to Juventus.
“The sale of Piatek and that of Romero will definitely put the club’s accounts in order. The sale of Piatek, from a corporate point of view, was a very good move.
“Genoa’s finances are very healthy. We will have no debt to the treasury within this year.”

Romero has big ambitions to match his big potential.
Prior to his this latest news of Juventus negotiations, the Argentine admitted that the Italian champions were one of four major European clubs with whom he would like to fulfil his childhood dreams.
Among those were Premier League side Manchester United, who look to have missed out.
“I’ve always wanted to become a professional football player and I’ve made it happen,” Romero told Corriere dello Sport in February.
“Now I dream of playing in the Champions League for one of the four most important clubs in the world: Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United.”
