Chelsea have booked their place in next season’s Champions League, despite a somewhat indifferent season under Maurizio Sarri.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Blues can also deny London rivals Arsenal an opportunity to play in Europe’s elite competition by beating Unai Emery’s side in the Europa League final. And that would mean a welcome boost of bragging rights over the Gunners.<\/p>\n

However, Spurs are set to dine at Europe’s top table next term too, having finished fourth in England’s top tier. Mauricio Pochettino’s men also have the small matter of a Champions League final versus Liverpool to take part in.<\/p>\n

The Lilywhites may well end up lifting ‘the big one’ to become the second side from the capital – after Chelsea – to etch their name on the Champions League trophy.<\/p>\n

Such a scenario would represent a nightmare for many Chelsea fans, who famously do not get on particularly well with their capital neighbours.<\/p>\n

So, if Chelsea fans had to choose between Spurs doing the business in Madrid and giving up their own place in the Champions League – what would they go for?<\/p>\n

The phrase cutting off your nose to spite your own face springs to mind, but it seems some Chelsea fans would do anything to stop Spurs securing a piece of history – even if it means having to face up to playing against teams they’ve never heard of on Thursday nights.<\/p>\n
