A bet is a winner if the selected club finishes in the bottom four of the League One table at the end of the season, so four of the 24 clubs listed pay out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only final league position matters. Play-off outcomes and cup runs are ignored, and bets are not settled until the EFL confirms the final standings, even if a club&#8217;s relegation is mathematically certain in April. Any in-season points deduction counts towards the final table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because four teams go down rather than three, the strike rate on favourites in this market is higher than in the Championship, which is why the front six are all priced at 3\/1 or shorter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-who-was-relegated-from-league-one-last-season\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who was relegated from League One last season?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Exeter City, Port Vale, Rotherham United and Northampton Town went down in 2025\/26. Exeter finished 21st on 49 points, Port Vale 22nd on 42, Rotherham 23rd on 41 and Northampton bottom on 35 after winning only nine games and conceding 74 goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Above them, Leyton Orient survived on 52 points and both AFC Wimbledon and Peterborough United stayed up on 53. Burton Albion were 17th on 54, five points clear of the drop. The survival line therefore sat at 52 points, higher than the recent norm, and three of the clubs who scraped through are among the six favourites to go down this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lincoln City won the League One title with 103 points, while Cardiff City secured automatic promotion in second place. Bolton Wanderers completed the promoted trio by winning the play-offs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oxford United, Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday dropped down from the Championship. Bromley, Milton Keynes Dons, Cambridge United and Notts County also joined the division after earning promotion from League Two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-five-favourites-for-league-one-relegation\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The five favourites for League One relegation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-bromley-11-10\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bromley (11\/10)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bromley won the League Two title with 87 points last season to secure promotion to League One for the first time in the club&#8217;s history. Andy Woodman has strengthened his squad rather than standing still, signing goalkeeper Shamal George, defenders Jacob Mendy, Chanse Headman and Deon Woodman, winger Ethon Archer on loan from Luton Town, striker Victor Adeboyejo and midfielder JJ McKiernan from Lincoln City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bromley built their title-winning campaign on organisation rather than attacking flair, scoring 71 goals and finishing with a goal difference of +25. Hayes Lane also remains one of the smallest stadiums in League One.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bromley were League Two champions on 87 points last season and now play third-tier football for the first time in their history. They finished 19th on 53 points with a goal difference of minus-21, the worst of any survivor, and won 15 games while losing 23. Director of football Craig Cope has spoken of wanting &#8220;four or five&#8221; more additions on top of the arrivals of Steven Sessegnon and returning winger James Tilley. If the defensive numbers do not improve, 11\/10 will look short of the mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-burton-albion-11-8\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Burton Albion (11\/8)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Burton begin a ninth successive season in League One, having finished 17th on 54 points with 13 wins. Gary Bowyer is a steady operator who has repeatedly kept them clear of trouble on one of the division&#8217;s smaller budgets, but the off-field noise is unhelpful: the club have accepted 28 breaches of Football Association agent regulations and the interim chairman has told supporters they &#8220;need to be realistic&#8221;. The margin has been thin for several years and the market expects it to finally give.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-cambridge-united-7-4\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cambridge United (7\/4)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cambridge were promoted automatically in third with 82 points and, crucially, the best defensive record in League Two \u2014 just 33 goals conceded. Neil Harris has kept the core of that squad together, retaining Shane McLoughlin, Dom Ball, Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu and George Hoddle, and added Callum Stead, Shayne Lavery, Gassan Ahadme on loan from Charlton Athletic and Callum Perry from Coventry City. They also fended off interest in promotion-winning players. Of the four teams promoted, they look the best-prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-notts-county-11-4\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Notts County (11\/4)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notts County are back in League One for the first time in 11 years after beating Salford City 3-0 in the play-off final. Martin Paterson moved quickly, bringing in James Gibbons, Callum Roberts, Max Sanders, Darius Lipsiuc, former Newport County captain Matt Baker and Australian forward Luka
