At Euro 2000 Romania finished second in their group ahead of England and Germany, beating the Three Lions in their sole victory.<\/p>\n<p>This time around, Ukraine were the team to fall to Romania in the Euros, and they relied on that opening game victory. And, finally, one of <strong>Germany<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Spain<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>France<\/strong> or <strong>Portugal<\/strong> will await in Berlin.<\/p>\n<h2>Romania key players for this year&#8217;s European Championship<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Romania top Euros Golden Boot contender: Razvan Marin<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Key stat:<\/strong> Razvan Marin has scored two of Romania&#8217;s four goals at Euro 2024 so far.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eyes were on George Puscas before the tournament, but Razvan Marin has stepped up for goals at Euro 2024 so far. The 28-year-old midfielder has scored two goals at Euro 2024 so far, with only one player at the tournament netting more. One of those goals was a penalty against Slovakia, but Marin was also involved in the romp over Ukraine. He also leads Romania for shots with six so far.<\/p>\n<p>This will definitely come as a surprise to fans as Marin had only scored three goals in his previous 55 games before the start of Euro 2024. He has set up two of Romania&#8217;s four goals so far, setting up Nicolae Stanciu and Denis Dragus in their opening win over Ukraine. Unsurprisingly, Man also leads the way for Romania in chances created, with four so far. And he&#8217;s the only Romania player to create a big chance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Romania card magnets &amp; top tacklers: Marius Marin<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Key stat:<\/strong> Marius Marin has made eight tackles at Euro 2024 so far.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Marius Marin has sat at the base of Romania&#8217;s midfield in all three of their Euro 2024 games so far, and he&#8217;s been the man to stop opposition attacks. Marin has made eight tackles, two more than Andrei Ratiu among his Romania teammates. His four fouls is second only to Denis Dragus, while Marin is also one of five Romania players to be booked at the tournament so far.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Romania rising star: Radu Dragusin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Radu Dragusin is the youngest player in Romania&#8217;s squad and their only player under the age of 23. Despite not playing too much for Tottenham after his winter move, Dragusin has been key at the heart of Romania&#8217;s defence. He has a favoured XI for this Romania side and has largely stuck with it, only making two changes in the group stage.<\/p>\n<p>Lining up in a 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1, Marius Marin is the holding man with Razvan Marin and Nicolae Stanciu starting alongside him.
